Last Saturday we held an event at The George to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The staff were brilliant and the location in the conservatory was great. I had requested “nibbles” to have with drinks and they exceeded my expectations, being really nicely presented and great value. I thoroughly recommend for a family event.

Not impressed to be honest on a Sunday roast service for 3 people.A very small singleBowl of cabbage & broccoli between 3 people. SmallStrip of carrot each &Small strip of parsnip. A spoon smear of swede 3 pieces of potato you couldn’t cut pork belly with no crackling even tho advertised (when mention “oh I did tell you” erm “no you didn’t” very strange over salty gravy. Rock hard dried out stuffing “something” not sausage wrapped in bacon meant to be pigs in duvet.When it came to paying the bill not only mocked for enquiring about blue light discount by bar staff we then had to ask the owners ourselves as staff would not.My cards where declined 3 times with no access to Internet or signal to check issue, waitress reply was “are you sure you have any funds” whileLooking me over,A friendly lad came over and said “oh hang on try this terminal as that one plays up” perfect payment made.I was made to feel very uncomfortable and embarrassed by the waitress.Very over priced for service and food received. Will NOT be returning.

We had a great meal in the George last night. It's usually quite good but last night seemed to be a much higher standard of ingredients. A great atmosphere with live music & bonfire.

Lovely warm atmosphere. Lovely food. I had a pate starter, super veggie roast and amazing orangey chocolate truffle slice with ice cream. Don't normal do puds, but looked too good not to. Speedy service. Friendly atmosphere. Nice warm pub fire on a rainy day. I'd defo go again and recommend it.

Visited here for dinner on a lovely summer evening, surprisingly it wasn't busy. The service was outstanding, as was the food. I had the seared tuna, the whole dish was amazing filled with different flavours and the tuna was cooked to perfection. My partner had the minute steak, which was also very tasty. The desserts were lovely and finished off the perfect meal. The location is beautiful, lovely quiet little country pub, and one definitely not to be missed if you're in the area.Great team, lovely helpful staff.
