The Houblon Arms
I was really looking forward to my stay here, but unfortunately after an awful experience, I cannot recommend The Houblon Arms for female travelers.The staff here have made it clear that unless you are white or accompanied by a male chaperone, you deserve to be harassed during your stay.The peaceful serenity of the English countryside was completely ruined by my experience staying at this hotel. Sadly I cannot recommend it to solo female travelers — please be advised to stay somewhere else.

Absolutely shameful management of this establishment. They treat their serving staff extremely poorly. Disgusting comments about where they live, how they talk, even dress (outside work) dismissing a young lady because she is pregnant and it doesn't suit their image, and then having the audacity to not even tell her, but telling her work colleagues instead. Cowards. Discussing current employees in a derogatory manner with potential employees during interviewing. Very unprofessional. I will be telling everyone I know exactly how this establishment is run and to not bother wasting their money to line the pockets of these cowards.

Stayed for a few nights! Rooms are very luxurious! Everything you need from iron to hairdryer. Mini fridge which has alcohol, water and soft drinks. Breakfasts are perfect with amazing service. Evening meals were out of this world!! 5* Food, drinks and service! Good portion sizes! We didn't have the best weather but if you go and it's warm there is an outdoor kitchen so Food and drinks can be cooked and made outside. Very nice quiet village, didn't really explore it to much but no noise in the evenings at all! Your own private hot tub for each room was nice as could chill in there when not doing anything in the evenings.I'd like to say thank you to Vicky and John and the other lady that served us for breakfast, we had an amazing time and really got to know you all well! We will definitely be back!

This was a work stay as it is 15 minutes from RAF Cranwell. The experience was classy and extremely professional. The room was outstanding, as was the private hottub. Thank you John, Vicky and your polite, professional team.

Spacious rooms with luxurious four poster beds, great showers and a hot tub that is great.Evening meals are a high standard. Friendly and professional staff, good range of choices over the three courses.Overall we felt welcomed by the friendly team, had a great meal and high quality sleep.

We had a great 3 nights in November, The use of the private hot tub is a must, and the room was very comfortable with a 4 poster bed.The food was excellent and all the staff were welcoming and provided excellent service.

A stunning place to come for a getaway as every facet of the experience is a true, luxurious joy. The hot tubs are immaculate and a real highlight, the rooms with the large beds are fantastic and just the overall service from the staff is absolutely top tier. The surrounding area is lovely to explore and go for a walk on and all I can say is if you're looking for a romantic getaway for you and your partner, this IS the place to come - you won't be disappointed.

5 stars from my husband and I, the staff were very attentive. The food was amazing, and the room and hot tub were delightful. We will definitely go there again. I highly recommend it.

What a fantastic find. We stopped off on our way home from visiting family in the North East for one night dinner, bed and breakfast. Beautiful clean room and we were very happy with the hot tub facility. Greeted by the owners on arrival who were friendly and cordial. We welcomed the recommendations for dinner suggestions. Food was delicious, nicely presented and very tasty. Good menu and selection of wine. The decor was tasteful combining old with new and it was interesting to speak with the owners about the history of the establishment. A very positive experience and we would definitely visit again. Good value for money.
