Potato House

This is the second year we have bought from Potato House and the results have been well worth it. Quality seed and good variety plus so much back up and help. We wont use any other potato factor from now on.Sue KingCaterham on the Hill

Had our first lot of Shetland Blacks a few days ago - quite delicious, although Jean says she could do a better job of cooking them! Looking forward to sampling Ambo shortly, and other delights to come. Can thoroughly recommend Potato House.

I hadn't used Potato House before, having used another supplier previously. I contacted 3 separate suppliers in early December, including Potato House, asking some advice. All 3 responded but I was particularly impressed by the friendliness and response time from Amy at Potato House, especially as it was December and they would have been very busy with orders. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I was also impressed by the range of seed potatoes Potato House had on their easy to navigate website.I took advantage of Potato House's deal that allowed me to purchase 6 tubers of 5 different varieties for a discounted price. I liked this as it allows me to try out several varieties but small amounts of each. Several other suppliers only sold in 1 or 2 kg bags which limits choice of variety.One other factor for choosing Potato House was the fact I could delay delivery and select the week I wanted them to be sent. I liked this as I could box off the order early and get full choice of variety but with the knowledge that Potato House could store the seed potatoes and then delivery them around the time when they needed chitting.My seed potatoes arrived from Potato House this last week and the quality is fantastic. It is worth remembering that around the time my order was due for processing and dispatch, eastern Scotland was experiencing temperatures as low as -23C in some parts and copious amounts of snow (all that in a global pandemic with its necessary restrictions!). Despite this, my order still arrived and it speaks volumes for all the staff at Potato House that they continued to fulfill orders so efficiently in such challenging circumstances. I even ended up getting a few more of one variety than I expected!I will definitely use Potato House again for my seed potatoes and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Thank you Potato House, both varieties of seed potatoes purchased, Casablanca and Sharpe, were a great success. I was delighted with the results as it's the first time I've grown potatoes. They were delicious - I'll certainly be back for more. Highly recommended, your service was excellent.

We used some of their seed potatoes for a family tattie growing competition. 3 generations took part and it was a great way to get youngsters interested in growing their own as they are very easy to grow. Potato House give excellent customer service and are on hand to answer any questions about varieties to use/growing conditions/harvesting however silly you may feel the question is. And at the end of the competition, we all had some deliciously tasty tatties to eat as a reward.

Just to say how happy I am with the seed potatoes that arrived today, order no. 21385. I was very pleased to be able to delay the delivery (as I do not like to 'chit' or plant too early) and very impressed that the tubers were still cool to the touch even after travelling to the south of England. The transaction has all been very satisfactory. Thankyou.

We're first-time growers, growing in bags and we did it mainly as an educational process for our 2yr old. Chose Maris Peer as it's a variety I know I like. Results were fantastic splitting one bag of seed tatties over three 50l potato bags. Plentiful crop of clean, nice sized tatties. Tasted absolutely delicious. That's the joy of 20mins between pulling and eating!Will certainly be ordering more next year and exploring other varieties. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Potato House to anyone, especially beginners like us.

The Sarpo seed potatoes I received last year exceeded my expectation. Initially slow to start growing (probably due to the evil Spring we had last year) they romped away. When blight took my neighbours' potato crops, mine were largely unaffected. Productivity was great, as is the taste, and I have just ordered a batch for 2022. Floreat spuds!

10/10 all round. A wide and beguiling range of seed potatoes. Very personal and friendly service during ordering, despatch and delivery. And lots of cultivation advice freely offered.We are now harvesting some of our first crops - prolific and very tasty Pentland Javelin.
