Tindalls Art & Graphics

I cannot pass an art or guitar shop without wanting to go in, and Tindalls was such a rewarding place to visit! It is the first art shop in the UK that I have found to not only sell graphite drawing blocks but had a choice if them; I usually resort to ordering online from the USA. The staff were highly knowledgeable and friendly, so now I am big fan of this fabulous shop

I was going to be charged £15 pounds for a frame border at the shop across the road ..the team helped me sort my certificate out cut the frame and fix it for £5 brilliant thank you Tindalls

We had a wonderful Saturday attending Sarah Allbrook's oil painting course in Cambridge!Sarah walks you through painting with oils in an outdoor setting. She will guide you through how to prepare your canvas, all the way to enhancing your painting with depth and shading techniques. Sarah provided a professional learning course, while offering a fun and relaxed atmosphere.A great class for anyone looking to start their artistic journey, or polish their skilled techniques!

I have really enjoyed the art workshops run here. I have done two pencil drawing ones and a beginners watercolour. I will soon be doing the marbling workshop, which I am looking forward too. They were a really relaxing, fun day out and improved my art skills. They also gave all the class members discounts so we could buy art supplies to continue what we learnt at home. I highly recommend these classes. I found the staff in the shop very helpful, they helped me find the pencils and paper I wanted to buy.

Store is full of art materials and i quickly found what i needed. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, they helped me understand ink brush pens better since it was my first time trying them

Never bought anything as it's far too expensive for a non-conformist in the COVID era.

Horrible experience!I bought a gift voucher for one of their art workshops and, 24 hours before the class, realized that we couldn't attend because of an unexpected commitment. They told me they won't reschedule with less than 7 days notice since they had already bought the material for the class. I asked if it was possible to get a partial refund after deducting the amount they had already spent but the answer was: 'if you made a mistake, that is not our problem'.Then, we found a friend that was interested in watercolour painting and could replace us in the class so that the voucher wouldn't go to waste. By that time (6pm) the shop was already closed so we couldn't give them a call. When she showed up for the workshop the following morning and explained the situation, they wouldn't let her take the class saying that we didn't agree on that in advance. Since it's just a voucher for a class, why does it matter who uses it?Given the short notice I am okay with no refund, but I do not understand why a friend cannot take that class if we are unable to attend.They can be really nice if they want to sell you something but don't care about customers as soon as they take your money. I wouldn't buy a pencil from them!

I am a student studying at the Cambridge School of Art. There is both overt and covert racism in this store. One of the female staff here patronized me and pretended not to understand what I said, even though she clearly understood it. She gave me a fake smile so she could make these behaviors very subtle, which made me very angry. I never want to recommend this place to all, especially international students.
