Chester Road Household Waste and Recycling Centre - R4GM/Suez

Had a mixed load of rubbish and was sent from one end of the site to the other by very authoritarian staff. Couldn't even throw a box of rubbish away, had to empty the rubbish out and then take the box to another area. No help with heavy items, other site users helped with staff looking on.

The guys are very rude at the centre, I removed the rear seats in my car to put as much as i could which would save another trip but they all started bouncing up and down that it's a van, absolute nonsense and when asking a question they start walking off, absolute joke. At least answer question you morons

Friendly. And helpful staff, always clean and tidy place

This is the best tip in the world! It’s that simple. The staff are friendly and informative and I just love going there!I used to have a pretty great den/treehouse in one of the trees behind this tip as well, so it’s lovely to see that old tree still thriving while I dump my junk and recycle my recyclables.

I was recently told I’m not allowed to bring more than 5 litres of old engine oil! But as a keen DIY’er I’ve serviced our own cars for the last 50 yrs, and we have 4 cars in our family - so I save up the old oil in a larger container so I can visit the tip less frequently to avoid the long queues of customers who are visiting this tip!!! I am NOT running a commercial business!!!

I’m only giving a poor review due to the attitude of some of the workers, they really can be quite rude and aggressive when it’s absolutely not necessary. I was there this afternoon when a very reserved Asian man was putting boxes in the cardboard section. A worker noticed that the boxes had polyesterine in them. After shouting at the man in quite an aggressive way, he then walked over and proceeded to humiliate him in front of everyone around very loudly. He even said “Come on, you’re an adult, aren’t you?!” It was very condescending and belittling for someone who made an easy and obviously honest mistake. The worker then walked over to another customer shaking his head and was obviously criticising and mocking the man he had just been talking to. Not to be overly dramatic but I work in mental health and certain encounters such as this can be extremely traumatic and damaging to people. It’s ok to care about your job and make sure things got in the right place but surely there has to be respect for the customers and some professionalism. If a worker gets a kick out of humiliating people, then they shouldn’t be there.

Outstanding service facilities and more importantly the staff is out of service well organised too to your record.Well done guys who working there.

Staff are rude, and one guy came across as aggressive. I have emailed to make a complaint.
