The White Hart. Hotel, Restaurant, Bar & Wedding Venue

We had an excellent lunch the food was cooked to perfection and the service was friendly. The buildings and grounds are immaculate making it good venue for a Leisurely meal. The one thing I was surprised to see the VAT was added after the bill was totaled up making it 20% more than I expected.

Stunning restaurant, hotel and wedding venue. Choice for a wedding anniversary meal. Menu excellent, service top notch and food fab. Not cheap though! Didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms.

Was attending a wedding so stayed the night, a very warm welcome from the staff, very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean and also had a nice breakfast. Definitely would recommend

The hotel room looked really good on arrival as the furniture and decor appeared to be of good quality but sadly our thoughts soon changed.The biggest concern was with the overall cleanliness of the room. There was a lot of visible dust on the bedside cabinet, top of wardrobes and on the beams. This was not a light layer of dust either! There was also old water left in the kettle and the water left in the coffee machine was very gritty or dusty?Sadly the worst thing of all was finding a sanitary towel had been left in the waste bin in the bathroom. This was totally unacceptable and made us feel pretty grossed out.We do feel this could be a truly wonderful hotel if they had cleaners who actually cleaned the rooms.We also had an issue with there being no remote control for the TV. This however was resolved after reporting the problem as one was delivered to the room (no battery cover though).Breakfast wasn't the best as the hot water for the teas and coffees is kept in pump action flasks and after making my tea, there was a large black unidentified object floating in the cup, which could only have come from out of the flask. I chose to have a fruit juice instead. Choice was limited but the full English was ok, not amazing as mushrooms were not fresh and bacon was chewy.

Third visit in the last few weeks. It never fails to impress. The staff are excellent, they remember your preferences and take care of you.The food is delicious and varied, so all tastes are catered for.The grounds are delightful, so you can sit in the wooded garden or go for a walk.All in all a fabulous place to stay or eat or both.

A lovely historic building, well presented throughout. Welcoming and friendly staff and lovely rooms to stay in. We enjoyed a decent cooked breakfast in the morning. Recommended.

We were greeted very well on arrival here and shown to our room..which at first glance looked very nice...but as we started to unpack we noticed that the the kettle , coffee machine and water filter all had water left in them..so had not been cleaned obviously... There was rubbish from previous occupent left in drawers. .heavy dust around bedside tables. and carpet felt gritty....tv remote did not work either......and sadly my husbands rib eye meal was served on a chipped plate.Our expectations were quite high for this hotel ...but sadly let down somewhat.....but must say staff were very good...house keeping definitely needs looking at

Beautiful pub with a lot a character. Food was great and staff super friendly. Must visit.
