First time eating here since the new management took over. Brilliant customer service - they couldn’t help us enough; booking, accommodating changes to the table and on the night serving. As a table of 14 we ordered on the night, expected a decent wait for our food due to table size, but we were served promptly and all at once. We also ordered a range of dishes between us and every single dish was amazing. Some of the best meals we’ve had in a local pub/restaurant in a long time! We’ll definitely be back, and would highly recommend

Came in today to see what it’s like under new management (not disparaging the previous managers, just a summary) it’s warm, clean, busy, friendly - nice upbeat atmosphere. The food came quickly, good quality and hot. Kids portion was spot on and only £4.95. Good luck to Ryan and Laura, long may this good start continue, we’ll be back…tomorrow.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nicely cooked and the hash browns definitely not out of a pre-made packet.Evening meal options are usual decent pub grub. The decor is an interesting mix of chandeliers, funky portraits and a bit on the shabby side! The room was a good size but no mini fridge and it was very hot with only a very small window to try and cool it down. The bathroom fittings were very tired and running on low mains pressure.Basically, it's a decent pup B&B nothing special but perfectly fine. I'd be happy to stay again and recommend The Lodge at Lancaster

The cleanliness and basic functionality of the hotel room was so poor that we couldn't stay the night. The room obviously hadn't been cleaned and there was no hot water for a shower, even after running it for 20 minutes. When asked if we could switch rooms they were unfortunately fully booked, but the (owner I'm assuming) fully acknowledged the room was not suitable and that it needed renovating.Following the 120 mile trip home due to no availablity for hotels on a Saturday night, they asked us to email them to resolve the issue. A week on and no reply. While they were pleasant to us in person and keen to resolve the issue, this obviously wasn't genuine as we're now out of pocket with no solution.Appalling.

We went to the restaurant for dinner as we've recently moved to the area. I'm aware that it has new management and they are working hard to welcome new guests. The location is easy to reach and there is ample free parking. I ordered the 10oz ribeye steak and my partner had the half roast chichen. I must say that I've had steak all over Europe and the USA and quite honestly this was not only the most delicious but soooo properly prepared and presented that I'd definitely return. Two empty plates at the end of the meal was testament enough. Thanks for a great meal. 5*

Absolutely amazing. The new owners are fantastic they are definitely making a fantastic first impression. The rooms are spotless and super clean the pub itself looks so clean and tidy. As for the food it's absolutely amazing the burger could definitely feed 2 people. Would 100% recommend.

Although the room was comfortable, it was tired and in desperate need of a make-over. It felt like it hadn't been occupied in a good while. Whoever cleaned it, probably took no more than 10 mins. There was ripped plastic on the floor and loads of cobwebs in the bathroom. The wardrobe door doesn't shut if you hang stuff in it.The main building (pub and restaurant) was nicely furnished but the food was really poor. The lady on the table next to me ordered the same meal as me but after me. However she got her food before me. I only waited another five minutes for mine but that's not the point. A good server should know in what order to serve customers. After finishing my small and bland meal I realised there was a better option at The Cross Keys literally 2 minutes walk up the road. Wish I'd eaten there. The following morning, I left my room at 8.20 to go back to the pub for breakfast. I couldn't remember if my rate included it but thought I'd ask one of the team. However, all the doors to the pub were locked and I couldn't get in. There was no evidence of any one even being there. I wasn't even able to check-out! So just left my key in the door. So much for hospitality!Dreadful experience and won't be going back
