Premier Inn Derby South hotel

Friendly check in staff, the standard premier Inn comfort rooms however when it's over 20° the rooms are very hot and stuffy and the fans don't seem to do much. You can have the room window open but quite a lot of traffic noise which didnt affect this rating.

Reasonable rooms but not yet had the premier inn upgrades. Water pressure can be low in some rooms, so check the shower before you unpack just in case. Standard Table Table attached which does require a table booking for food.

Recently stayed in this facility. Upon arrival we were met by the most delightful member of staff named Katrina. Very helpful, utterly professional and just what you needed after a 5 hour drive.The attached restaurant was also a great support act - good food, beer and staff.

Everything was okay, except the shower, which was as good as useless.Surely these things are checked by housekeeping . . . And then rectified? Apart from that, a good pub next door, with drinks and food at a realistic prices (Macclesfield take note!!)

We stayed in yesterday, and welcoming was good, however the room was extremely hot as the AC was not working, there was a fan in the room which was blowing hot air too, really did. not feel comfortable and we could not sleep well all night. would not recommend it at all summer time, not sure about winter.

Unfortunately it wasn't the usual level of comfort we usually experience. The bathroom light and fan seemed to not work. The windows were shut and a notice stating the windows do not open, yet there was no air conditioning controls, so the room was like an oven. We didn't get a great night's sleep.We didn't mention it to the team at the time as it was late and the kids had gone to sleep so it would have been disruptive.In terms of location - AWFUL.The pub next door had two blokes standing outside smoking. One had about 3 teeth, the other was wearing jogging bottoms and a top and looked like he (or his clothes) hadn't washed in about 6 years. Having never been to the area before, I can safely say that we will actively avoid it in future, it's a dump of a location. There's a LIDL next door and out room had a prime view of the back of it. We walked to find dinner (no way were we eating in the Mos Eisley Cantina next door) and the theme continued. We did find a really nice place for a curry though!

Fantastic service , lovely room with MASSIVE really comfy bed, and the breakfast was fab too

Overall we had a good stay and the room was clean,the bed was amazing! The only 2 things things I will say is that the room was extremely hot there was a fan provided however it didn't really have enough power to cool the room and in the bathroom there was no toilet brush which would have been nice. We had breakfast in the restaurant but was put off by the ants that were crawling around on the table and along the wall beside us which I did mention to a member of staff but everything else was perfect.

Very good service on check-inn, was very efficientRooms were clean and in a good condition. However, due to the proximity to the main road, there may occasionally be loud cars driving past for those light sleepers. I personally found it okay.Hotel offers free parking for the duration of the stay, so it's a bonus not having to look and pay for parking elsewhereReminder there is no Air Conditioner in the rooms, so maybe not advisable to stay here over the summer. They do provide a fan but it doesn't really do much.
