I had two desks that were unfinished by a previous woodworker. The craftsmanship was extremely poor and I was very disappointed with them. I contacted Matthew Castle and, while it took a while for my turn to come up, it was definitely worth the wait. He was able to totally rework the desks, and finish them off beautifully. He listened to all of my desires for the finished desks and worked in lovely details. They are gorgeous and I absolutely love them. Our family will be using these two desks for years to come. Thank you, Matthew, for saving these desks and making them both beautiful and functional!

Im very happy indeed with the recently completed job by Matt. It was a very small job that most people are not willing to do - repair a victorian dining table. Matt came out, took the table away, repaired it and brought it back the next day!We havent used the table yet, but you cant get better service than that. Thank you Matt.

Matt has made two pieces of furniture for us: a circular kitchen table and garden seat wrapped round a tree. The process of choosing with him the wood and the detail of the design was great fun. Both are beautiful pieces of craftsmanship and we are delighted to have them to live with. He was also willing to turn out on a Sunday evening to mend a dormer window which the wind had wrenched off its hinges.

Matthew recently completed two projects to build and install a walk-in wardrobe and cupboards on my landing.Matthew came to visit, measured and designed our projects. The result was much much better than we had hoped for, the build quality and attention to detail was exceptional, we wanted bespoke - that's exactly what we got! See the pics. I was particularly impressed with the way they cleared up after themselves each nightThere may be a long lead time but quality and this level of craftsmanship is work the wait. Needless to say we’re in the queue for the next project. Thanks Matthew, great work.

Matt used his masterful traditional joinery skills to make us an amazing bookcase for our panelled hall. It is free-standing but such a perfect match that you could never tell! Amazing!!

Matts work is beyond our expectations, the level of craftsmanship and detail is just beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble, he solved other woodwork problems in the house, whist he was here. He is very passionate about what he does, working incredibly cleanly. He has tremendous empathy for with old buildings.

Matthew worked with us to design a fitted wardrobe and some cupboards and drawer units in two of our bedrooms.Matthew was reliable and punctual and completed the work on time as agreed. The work was of a high standard and the finish was excellent.He was professional in the way he worked in our home and at the end of each working day he hoovered and left the area net and tidy.We would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

Twelve years ago Matt and his team crafted and built an oak conservatory at the rear of our house. Recently, he did a much smaller job for us. Not only is the standard of their work very good, they are also nice people to do business with.

I feel so fortunate to have found Matthew. Words in a review cannot express what a craftsman he is! He works through every little detail and the outcome of the projects are better than I imagined. Great design, material selection, guidance, troubleshooting! There may be a long lead time but you know what they say... good things come to those who wait!
