St Johns Dental Practice

Greeted by receptionist dentist wsWas running 1/2hr late. Receptionists explaining the new pt plan or private rules, as no longer going 2 be an NHS practice. The patient was told she would save money, um NO! Then told there was a £75 fee to be accepted onto the plan!Have felt for a while this practice only care about money & pushing 'paying' treatments'.Dentist you friendly as always.

I opened up to the hygienist today and she was pleased how well I had improved. Obviously not full-fillings like a while ago but a scale of 1-24 or so was a healthy number. Floss arrived to check everything was good in between and I was happily advised on brushing up on the root of my problems to improve myself. I hope you enjoyed my little bit of fun. I wouldn't give this practice 1star normally, but I had to to write this review. I would not recommend this practice for NHS patients, the technician my wife and I saw was incompetent and unknowledgeable. After the disappointing treatment over 5 months, we decided to leave the practice, due to a more competent and helpful dental technician being able to give treatment at a more urgent rate, at another practice. To be honest I'm a hundred percent certain, the dental technician at st John's was not qualified to the standard of the British dental federation. Anyway who ever reads this, it's your choice. We were disgusted with the service we received.

As a first experience of St Johns, I wasn't hugely impressed.I booked a consultation at a fixed price of £72 to discuss suitability for cosmetic dentistry.The dentist was 20 minutes late in seeing me (although another patient was still waiting 30 minutes after his appointment time and eventually just walked out very disgruntled) and there was no apology for the delay.When she did see me, she didn't appear to have any idea why I was there - and the discussion on cosmetic options only came up 15 minutes into the appointment when I raised it.Instead, she spent her time doing a standard check-up before doing some X-rays that I wasn't aware I needed.The dentist then said the cost of the appointment would be £100, something the receptionist said wasn't the case when I queried it.One other thing to point out: Before my appointment and while I was waiting to pay afterwards, the receptionist was on the phone to a number of other patients cancelling their appointments for this week because the dentist I had just seen had a 'faulty chair' and couldn't perform procedures.Odd, given I had just sat in that very chair for 30 minutes...She also told patients on the phone that only one dentist was working that day, despite three surgery rooms clearly being used!Absolutely nothing wrong with the check-up I had and the receptionist is clearly doing her best in a badly-run environment where she's being asked to lie to patients when cancelling their appointments.St Johns is clearly very poorly run, so I'll certainly be going elsewhere for my next appointment as there are plenty of other dentistry options in Dorchester.

Excellent dental practice been going for years always see Bart very kind and knows what a baby I am when it comes to My teeth always explains any procedure and makes you feel comfortable while there excellent service

Never really liked going to the dentist. Kinger is probably one of the best. The way she puts you at ease is fantastic. I don't worry now about the 6 monthly visit.

Visit for check up and filling.Reception staff were rather curt.Treatment with Bart was as always excellent.He is always pleasant and professional.But another new dental nurse. Where do they go!Thank you Bart.

Excellent Dental practice, Bart is the best dentist I've ever been to. He is very patient with you. And explains what he does in an understandable way.

My husband's appointment was this morning. Bart was helpful and thorough as usual. My husband has Parkinson's and finds positioning and getting into the chair quite difficult. He has always been treated with patience and understanding . Many thanks Bart.

Very disappointed and unhappy with the service and behavior of the doctor who works in your clinic. After waiting for an appointment for several months (the appointment was postponed several times through no fault of my own), when I was about to sit down for an examination, I was informed that I had been removed from the NHS list and transferred as a private patient because the doctor had decided not to investigate any more on the NHS. The doctor's approach was hopeless, my child cried the whole visit because he was afraid and did not know what the doctor was going to do, and the other son did not even sit down on the armchair. People working at the reception did not show willingness to help and resolve the situation. Definitely - I do not recommend!
