Screen and Film School Manchester

My experience at Screen and Film School Manchester was dreadful. Don't get me wrong, the school has great equipment and resources, they even host great masterclasses from people in the industry which are very informative, however, when it comes to the actual school, this isn't one where you will learn much. The teachers here are freelance and it's very clear that you are not their priority as a student, it is also very clear that although they are in the industry, they aren't exactly professional lecturers. The classes are unbalanced, with most of your time spent making portfolios Instead of films. The worst part of this whole institute though lies with the principal who can't take any criticism about the place without taking it personally. I brought up my issues with the school to him and he was instead more bothered about the fact that I had tried to contact his boss. He didn't fix any of the problems and overall led me to feel intimidated as a student. The word FILM needs to be wiped from the name of this school because you won't learn anything about the subject. If the course was called freelance videography then it would be a lot more accurate, however, if you are looking for an actual filmmaking course, don't go here, especially if you want faculty that actually care.
