I had a similar experience to a previous reviewer I watched the auction online - bid and won a lot - rang up whilst the auction was still ongoing - lady sent me an invoice - paid and picked my lot up immediately. Very helpful, efficient and professional. The ladies on reception were friendly and went out of their way to provide me with some materials to protect my items.I had previously asked for some photos of the lot I was interested in which were sent back to me the same day as the request on the Sunday before the auction. The 13 photographs were excellent.I didn’t ask the reason why but the public were not allowed in the room whilst the auction was taking place. Not unique these days but I just thought it strange.The items were in great condition exactly as described in the condition report and photographs which is important.

Horrible experience at Mellors & Kirk auctioneer - daylight robbers and scammers.They broke the oil lamp few days before my collection but did not apologise for their mistake and did not compensate or refund. Their excuse is that it is my fault for not collecting within 7 days. It is ridiculous as they blamed the buyer and asked the buyer to take the responsibility meanwhile they broke the lamp themselves. When I asked for the compensation, they have rude attitudes and chase me out of the door.This is the worst and most unreliable auction house I have ever encountered.

This auction house is absolute rubbish in my experience. I sent detailed photos of a celadon vase I had and they valued it at between £300-500. I of course was delighted so sent them the vase and paid £35 in total with insurance to get it to them. I couldn't believe it when they then said it was only worth £70-100!! They didn't acknowledge receipt of my vase and I had to ring them several times to ask if they'd received it and what sale it was going in. Shocking lack of care and acknowledgement! Never will I send anything to them again.

The online experience was good and their postal service was a positive. Things went downhill when Royal Mail lost my package, but M & K were quick to reply to my request and put a query in immediately. Three weeks later my SD packet was returned to them and they were quick to ship again, also with good communication. Thank you M & K for your caring service.

Excellent service .Bid online for an item, won and called to see if I could pay and pick up . Lady very helpful sent invoice immediately and item was paid for.Following day went there saw the same lady who again was very helpful. Also had to speak to the auctioneer who was just as obliging.It’s worth Google mapping the address as it didn’t take me to the right location … drop a pin and do it that way .Hope to deal with them again. Thoroughly recommend

I has had a very good experience with my purchases, money transfer, packaging and communication. Looking forward to work again.

Auction House sold a fake reproduction coin, claiming it to be genuine. Their staff repeatedly claimed the coin to be genuine - I then had it authenticated by the NGC and trusted numismatic experts who found it to be a reproduction. Auction staff refused refund, refused to respond to emails, had to get a third party involved.Very unprofessional service and extremely rude. Would not recommend. Avoid.

A bunch of daylight robbers, they sent me an auction lot with a ruby missing, claimed it maybe dislodged in the post?Refused a refund, I returned the ring which they have kept.I have reported to Trading Standards and my bank.Very unprofessional and rude attitude.Taking legal action. See you in court scammers!

Unfortunately not an honest or great auction house. Ready to pay and..........they have banned me and cancelled me purchase.Demanding and telling me which day exactly to pay and rude to boot.

Shared my personal details with a third party without my permission. Breach of client confidentiality. Not good.
