Mater Infirmorum Hospital

Worst A&E in Belfast, waited for 6 hours to be told they didn't know what was wrong even though my foot is swollen up like a balloon, I can't even walk on it the pain is that severe. The attitude the young doctor had towards me was appalling he had absolutely no empathy or interest.

Relative was here for eye treatment. Great atmosphere and really nice staff but expect long wait times! (We waited 3.5 hrs)

Absolutely appalling trying to get through to any ward on the phone because no one ever answers.

I was in the elective overnight unit today for a day procedure. The nurses were just fabulous. Busy and under pressure but all took the time to care. Well done girls. You're doing a brilliant job. Thank you x

The worst hospital i have ever been. My husband admitted for the emergency and we waited for his report for almost 8 hours!! To be honest im writing this in 9th hour, we didn't get the report yet!!

I went to the Mater hospital today, suffering from covid, i was under the care of a doctor who called herself Lucy.from the start she put me at ease, she went above & beyond & left no stone unturned. My Wife Estelle & i, would like to thank her for her excellence care, she truly is a fantastic credit to your hospital. Doctor Lucy you where outstanding today, thankyou so much.

Severely understaffed - this is not a knock on the hospital but the UK gov - stripped the NHS and completely destroyed it.Only thing I will say is needed a wheelchair for person I was in hospital with - as the wait was too long and we were leaving - person I was with could walk but not with major assistance and very slowly - when asked receptionist for a wheelchair he replied “they were just walking fine a minute ago” with no empathy or care - almost said it sarcastically. As it was close to 4:00am and I didn’t want to bother fighting - I just helped the person I was with. The fellow people in Emergency showed more care than the receptionist.

My mother was taken here at 10am yesterday morning.She was not offered food or water/beverage by any staff member, although was she is ill and has subsequently been admitted.This is not good enough.

I was at the hospital earlier today having a procedure done. I'm a very nervous patient but everyone there was delightful and went out of their way to keep me informed what was being done and why. All the staff are angels and l wish it was in my power to give them all immediate pay rises. Money wouldn't pay them for all they do
