Went with this company after looking at draft reports from a few providers in the area, and Janus seemed to have a lot more detail and rigour to their inspection vs the others. Ultimately very pleased with the outcome. Received a very detailed inspection/ report - went with a Type 2 survey for a property built in the 1920s - and dealt with two great guys in Rupert and Henry.

We asked Rupert and Rob at Janus Conservation to conduct a 3+ survey for a Grade II listed property in S Oxfordshire. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The report was very detailed but easy to understand and has proved useful in going back to the seller with the points that have been raised. Rupert and Rob have been on hand to talk us through the report and highlight the key areas. Absolutely outstanding.

We commissioned Janus to survey a grade II listed pub that we were buying to convert into a home. Communication was excellent throughout and they prepared us a thorough 90+ page report within days. The report was well laid out, concise and illustrated with photos going through all the potential problems with the building. The photos taken from the drone were particularly useful for providing views of the roof that would have been otherwise impossible.Serious problems with the building were found and we have unfortunately had to withdraw from the purchase. While the outcome obviously isn't ideal for us our investment in the survey has saved us from making a financially ruinous mistake.We would certainly use Janus Conservation again.

We were very pleased to have used Janus Conservation to conduct a buildings condition and services report for us on an Edwardian property we were intending to buy. The report was very thorough and enabled productive discussions to take place with the vendors. Both Oliver and Rob were very helpful and responsive to our questions post the production of the report and we felt we had done as much as possible to understand the property condition. Whilst, unfortunately our purchase fell through due to a lower part of chain pulling out very late in the day, that bears no reflection on the quality of the report and service provided by Janus. Highly recommend if buying an older property.

Rupert provided us with a professional and extremely detailed report to assist us in deciding whether or not we should purchase an old property with some modern work linking it to an old annex. He identified problem areas which we could not have known about without his expertise and flagged up considerable difficulties with some of the Building Control sign offs. We used this to identify how much work and time would be required to rectify the problems and ultimately decided against purchasing the property. The fee was money well spent as it saved us a far larger sum and greatly helped in our decision making process. Would use again without a qualm
