Please avoid. After spending over 3 years having electrolysis the treatments made no difference at all. I felt something wasn’t right for a long time because the same hairs were returning time and time again, no finer either. I carried on thinking I needed to give the treatments time. Eventually I felt enough was enough and raised my concern over the hairs returning and asked if she could use a stronger setting. She told me it doesn’t work like that and asked if my periods were regular, I said they were. I don’t have PCOS either. I contacted the British Institute & Association of Electrolysis who were concerned about everything I told them and advised that using a stronger setting is exactly how electrolysis works and each hair can be treated multiple times in one go to prevent it from coming back. I was distraught that this was never done for me. Needless to say, I started electrolysis with another practitioner and the difference has been remarkable. The results have been permanent and this practitioner is very thorough in treating the hairs and explaining the process. I later made a complaint about Penny to the BIAE who investigated and agreed that I received a service below the standard expected from a member. Among the faults listed were poor communication (she failed to discuss the treatments and progress with me), inadequate record keeping (she couldn’t tell them what settings she used) and no photographic evidence of treatments (they expect members to take photos of the areas being treated before and regularly throughout treatment). Overall, this ordeal has caused me a lot of misery and distress. I thought there was something wrong with me, hence not seeing results. I regret wasting all that time and money only to start all over again elsewhere. Please, if you care about your wellbeing choose a practitioner carefully and don’t be afraid to ditch if you feel the treatments aren’t making a difference.

ive been having treatments with Penny for the last few months every 2 weeks. and i am very pleased with the results so far. still a long way to go but highly recommended
