A brilliant club with fantastic people. Having never done a martial art before my daughter and I joined the club together in October 2020 and we love it. Matt sensei and Zoe sensei are fantastic teachers, they are hugely knowledgable, passionate, encouraging and welcoming.

My daughter became involved with this club after trying karate at one of the primary school classes run by them. 8 years later and it is a way of life for her. A friendly, encouraging club with world class instruction from Matt Price Sensei and all on our doorstep. Would thoroughly recommend to both adults and children alike.

18 years on & I still can't believe how lucky I was that this was the karate club I randomly selected from the Yellow Pages! There are many clubs out there that just do not have the quality of a properly affiliated dojo. The depth of knowledge that Matt Sensei & the senior members of the club share, together with the inspirational visits from our Japanese instructors makes this an exceptional club to be a part of.

Me and my sister have been with this club for almost 3 years now (starting a couple of years after our dad joined) and can't recommend them enough. Zoe and Matt are fantastic teachers and are incredibly inspirational for those just starting up to those who have already got their black belt! Throughout these 3 years I've been able to make some awesome friends and develop a real sense of community within the club. 100/10 would suggest to anyone looking to join a karate club to sign up here! I have trained in several Shotokan Karate Clubs over the decades and have been a member of the club for over 15 years. By far this is one of the best clubs in the country. The superior level of instruction given by Sensei Price is second to none. New members are made to feel very welcome. Training in Karate is a life long pastime and brings strength and flexibility as well as robust mental health.

My family and I have trained here for over 25 years. The club is hugely supportive of all ages and abilities, from junior beginners to International competitors. Matt Price Sensei, JKS England coach, gives first class instruction every session, covering all aspects of karate. The Club also has access to visiting International instructors. I can’t recommend Harrogate Shotokan highly enough.

Took my young son along to this club, joined in myself after a few weeks and a couple of years later we are still members. Friendly and welcoming to all with inspirational instruction of the very highest quality. The kids classes are amazing - highly recommended.
