Went there to a wake. Very nicely set out. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The buffet that was put on was very good with a wide choice of food. The place was clean and well decorated. There was parking but I couldn't see any disabled spaces which made it difficult to get my wife's wheelchair in and out.But overall a very good exoerience.

A complete and utter dive. Tiny rooms, mouldy showers, no ventilation, filthy carpets and stained sheets. Truly disgusting. Avoid.

It's not the Ritz, but has parking, clean towels and sheets, a hot shower and not noisy when we visited. The reception staff we spoke with were courteous.

The only good thing is that the location is right near the bus stop. The room is extremely dirty, smells like dirty socks, and air humidity is so high that you can't even breathe normally. My cloth was smelling bad all the time. In 5 days they didn't clean my room at all. I left earlier since I didn't feel safe.

Arrive to the receptionist using the F word to some one . The room felt cold and damp and the carpet was stained, shower room was mouldy. Left despite no refund ,decided we would be better sleeping in the car if we couldn't find anywhere else .

I'm giving one star to make a point but I shouldn't be doing that. To begin with, I must point out that this place should not be treated as a hotel, but as a pub with the possibility of staying overnight after a party. I came to sleep one night to rest before an important event the next morning for me, but I failed. The noise of slamming doors or rumbling stairs and loud conversations until two in the morning. Dirty, neglected room with very poor ventilation, the walls are probably made of paper because you can hear everything that is happening in the neighboring rooms or in the corridor, damp bedding. on Saturday you will not order any meal because this option is not available on the weekend. If you come here to drink a beer, it's OK, otherwise I advise against it.

Avenue Lodge and club was ideal for our purposes. I know some reviewers commented on a poor state of repair, but I reckon they’ve recently had a bit of a refresh. You still can’t really describe it as stylish, but our room was clean and fresh and great value. Admittedly the view from the window isn't the most scenic but it lets in light and fresh air. The staff were cheerful, kind and helpful. The rooms are over a pub and function room. There was nothing going on in the function room when we were staying so I've no idea how much the sound from that might affect the rooms, but the pub part was busy and had a jukebox on but was completely inaudible from our room even with the window open, so we got a solid night's sleep.Breakfasts were simple but substantial and good value. The pub isn’t particularly to my taste (sports on the TV and no draught real ale) but it was friendly and the staff welcoming. And I’m reviewing the accommodation, not the beer selection If I need to stay in this part of the city I'd definitely stay here again. We needed a room in Selly and this was that. Great value for money.

Loved my stay here. The staff and local patrons of the club couldn't have been more welcoming. This has everything you need if you like a social gathering! Great value foe money but don't expect high end decor. Clean and tidy.
