Given it has so much history linked to Admiral Nelsons family I was expecting to see more.

Lord Nelson's parents are interred in the church, his father was the rector here in the late 1700's.The church contains many items relating to Admiral Nelson.It's a bit off the beaten track but worth the effort.

We had previously been to the church several years ago and enjoyed the visit.We went again recently and were dismayed to find the churchyard so overgrown and the lovely church looking neglected.With the history connected to this church it isn't right to see it like this.

Beautiful church. A must for anyone interested in the history of Admiral Lord Nelson.

In deze kerk liggen de ouders van de Engelse admiraal en zeeheld Horatio Nelson begraven. Hij wilde hier ook begraven worden maar het is toch St. Paul's cathedral geworden in London. Nelson is geboren in het nabij gelegen Burnham Thorpe.

Full of history and atmosphere, this was Nelson's parish church. If this were in the USA it would be a heritage centre. Instead it's just a quiet unassuming country church
