Preston Private Care Home

I can say this I never in a million years wanted to put my mother into a care home after hearing dreadful stories of care in some. But, I must admit Preston private care home completely changed my views. Mum went in for respite care, and she was treated with utmost respect, the staff were utterly amazing and I cannot praise them enough for the love and care they gave towards mum. Her room was beautiful and clean, showered every day, bed changed daily clothes washed. I am beyond words of gratitude......I will still hopefully take mum back for the bingo sessions as I have grown found of the residents and staff. Thank you so much . Maureen. Xx

This place is all show and no action. I have been visiting my relative who was admitted here from hospital. They have a printed activities sheet which is basically there for show because on the days we have visited there has been no activities what so ever as was scheduled on the paper. My relative was receiving the same evening meal every evening until we said something to staff. We had to ask for a duvet for the bed as my relative was only provided with a thin blanket to sleep on. We purposely left her toothbrush & toothpaste in a certain position on the sink as my relative said she wasn’t given assistance or had her teeth cleaned for 3 days and we discovered that her toothpaste hadn’t even been opened and the brush hadn’t moved. They provide the very BASIC standards of care most of the time but there is no genuine care, interaction or relationship building between the staff and residents. My relative is basically left in the lounge all day in front of the telly without a channel change or checking her toileting needs. Staff don’t interact with relatives or residents at all and if they do it’s miserable and brief. There’s hardly ever any staff around. Two bathrooms were absolutely filthy with urine and faeces and it was like that since 3pm in the afternoon and still wasn’t cleaned when we left at 7pm. The corridors absolutely smell of faeces on every single visit. Not a recommended place of care at all

Absolutely the worst place ever to leave a loved one! What a shock I got when I saw the state my father was in after a week of being in there, he was dirty and was sat in a chair from the minute he got up in the morning until he was put to bed at night, they didn’t even dress him...Basically he was left to rot until I took him out of there.

My Mum was admitted to Preston Private Nursing Home from hospital for End of Life Care. Mum was in a lovely room overlooking the garden with patio doors.The staff were fantastic, nothing was to much bother for them when I asked for some help with Mum. Lovely caring staff. I had asked for Mum to be kept clean, comfortable, turned regularly and mouth care. This was done plus more. They also looked after family when visiting Mum. The place was spotless, no smell of bodily fluids/ functions etc.I am so glad I chose this Nursing home for Mum to spend her last days there.

Awful home. Moved my father out of here in 2013! Not sure it’s changed hands since but I doubt it

Staff are brilliant. Level of care is high. The home and grounds are very clean and well presented. Highly recommended.
