Krafft Jewellers

Sadly I had extremely poor service from Kraft. I took my watch in for a service, they took it into the back of the shop and I assume inspected it. I was quoted £120 for a service, so it was left with them. A couple of weeks later I received a phone call and was informed I needed a new glass at an extra cost of £50. I knew the glass was not cracked at all, but they insisted I needed a new one or “dust would enter”, and they would not repair the watch unless I had a new glass. I said I was not prepared to pay another £50 and that I would pick up the watch at no cost. I went to the shop a couple of days later assuming the watch was on their premises, but it had been sent out, which was a surprise! My partner picked up the watch a few days later and of course they had broken the glass. This is where it gets strange, upon inspection the watch was keeping perfect time. My theory is the watch was repaired and the glass was cracked upon re-assembly, so instead of owning up to the mistake, they tried to rip me off. ALWAYS take a pic of anything you take there for repair. A sorry tale indeed.I note your response to my post Danny, I can assure you the glass was cracked after I left it in your shop, see attached images. Whether this was done in your shop or wherever the watch was sent I have no idea. The watch was inspected when I left it, so that member of staff would have noticed it, plus if the glass had been broken I would have asked for it to be replaced, I am not a dishonest person. I have had the glass replaced at a repairer who keeps the watch on the premises and takes ownership of the watch as opposed to a third party, this cost me £45.

Kraft jewellers is a jewel!If I have any jewellery or clock that needs repairing or I wish to buy jewellery for a gift or for myself this is my first place to visit. Such a good service, value and very trust worthy.

What an absolutely first class service! They went over and above to personally ensure my mother received her repaired jewellery in time for her to wear to my father’s funeral. It meant so much to my mother and my family and we cannot thank them enough.

Delightful little shop by Chelmsford Cathedral. Many beautiful things to choose from. Friendly staff, fantastic repairs, no job to small. Highly recommended.

I took my engagement ring to be resized down by quite a few sizes and they did it perfectly, even managed to keep the engraving on the inside of the ring. Unfortunately a few hours after I picked it up once completed, I noticed a diamond was missing in the band. I took it back to the shop and they apologised and offered to sort it out no questions asked. I had it back by the end of the week at no cost, such good customer service. Would most definitely recommend Krafft Jewellers and all the lovely staff!

Recently had an engagement ring (bought elsewhere) resized here. They have done an excellent job and the ring now fits my fiancée perfectly. They were friendly, speedy and kept us up to date. Would recommend using this great local business!
