Medivet 24 Hour Camberwell - The London Animal Hospital

The care and treatment is to a high standard but as usual with most of these consortiums buying up private practices, they extort people for money. The prices are way overinflated and if you don’t have insurance you’re screwed! They charge over the RRP for non prescription items (I got the products they recommended half the price from Amazon). It’s all about the money. Once I saw a man leave the practice and he seemed like he had genuinely forgot to pay before leaving especially as he was clearly upset and I witnessed the staff running after him down the road to get money from him.

The staff was amazing and very professional.Very pricey but at least my rabbit felt better and the kids were very happy to see her feeling better. Highly recommendedThanks for everything

I don't like to leave negative reviews but this is not only the worst vet I've ever been to, it's one of the worst businesses in London. The following are experiences I and people I know have had with this vet:- Being overcharged, either deliberately or through error, sometimes for procedures or products we hadn't received.- Misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis of pets' conditions, which died soon after. This happened more than once. I know you can't expect every condition to be caught but it's alarming that this happened to both our pet and our friend's pet.- The staff were very unsympathetic and unfriendly when our cat died, and tried to take advantage of the situation by pushing pet-death products on us.- The reception staff are unfriendly and incompetent, as well as often not seeming to care that you're there or that you're being made to wait a long time for an appointment. You will never be seen on time by a vet.With the exception of maybe two members of staff, there are no redeeming qualities to this business. Everything that happens here stinks of money-grubbing. The business plan seems to be Get as much money out of a customer until they realise we don't know anything about animals". If you happen to be currently using this vet

Treat their clients like cash cows. My dog had a reaction to Vaccine and I was charge for bring her in 4 days later to be checked, Charged for blood tests, when dog collapsed was charged a further £980 to keep her in which had to be paid up front. In total my dog vaccination cost me £1490. Two comments for different vets at Camberwell, 1) oh vaccines are optional, 2) The Vaccine is not the cause of your dog being unwell, however I would be very careful with any future vaccines you give her....Despite putting in a formal complaint in early August I've not had a response back from Medivet. Totally disgusted

Admin in this surgery is shambolic. On three or more occasions I have been asked to prove that I have previously paid for a prescription months after collecting it. On each occasion with much inconvenience I have been able to do so. The surgery needs to implement a far more professional and rigorous accounting process and not push their responsibilities onto customers. I have also on more than one occasion collected a prescription where the surgery has “slipped in” and accompanying product and charged me for it, but without highlighting that they have done this, resulting in my having to return the unordered product. Symptomatic of a surgery that is a money driven corporate endeavour and not one looking out for the animals themselves.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. My dog was admitted very poorly and when collected was even worse screaming in pain from an injury received whilst in care. The vet didn’t bother to give him anti inflammatory or painkillers and left my dog to suffer. I had to book an emergency appointment with his usual vet who administered very strong painkillers. I’ll be following this up with a complaint and should be compensated for having to pay for additional treatment. Frustrating and quite frankly rude service and lack of care from vet Christina. Will never go to this branch again on account of the cruelty shown to animals.

Got an appointment super fast, all of the staff are friendly and the vets are nice and prioritise health. They call you with updates too.Although it doesn't seem majorly anxious-pet friendly, my cat is friendly but can be nervous with strangers and get stressed hungry. He didn't eat or use the toilet at all while he was in there (48hrs) and they told me he was terrified. Can't really fault staff for this but I'm not sure of the circumstances in the hospital section. They did call and ask if there's anything they can do/food he particularly likes so they did try, but he was still really really scared when I picked him up.I've not had the response that he was aggressive before here, I also personally didn't meet any female vets (which could be why). Again can't really fault the place for this but it's something to note if your pet has anxious tendencies!

I had to take my cat to the London Animal Hospital on Tuesday evening lat week since my usual Vet doesn’t offer emergency care. My cat was seeing upon arrival and admitted straightaway. It was such a relief as it was very stressful. He is doing all fine now

First time visit and this is a very friendly practice. Listened to my concerns, explained everything clearly and gave me options. Really appreciated while I extremely worried for my old dog. Happy to give advice over the phone and being open 24hrs is massively reassuring.
