Southbourne Beach
If you want to escape from London and find a nice, sandy, long and quiet beach, you found your spot! It’s a 2 hour train from London. We stopped at Bournemouth but there is a train going to Southbourne too. Then you can get a bus (20 min ride for £2) or a taxi. Bournemouth beach is also good but this one is quieter and full of locals.There is lifeguards and a few bars where they serve food, drinks and ice creams, and also toilets facilities. Great day out on a sandy beach!

Absolutely beautiful this morning.... A great place to walk the dog lots of friendly people, clean beach and beautiful sea air and views out to the Isle Of White....

Lovely stretch from either the cliff tops or along the promenade. Ample free parking along the top for cars note motorhomes have to park on the other side of the road in the few bays. Loads of cafe outlets along beach side or there are a few cafes up top.

Absolutely perfect getaway from the heat in London. Cool air off the water is simply bliss. Couldn’t have planned it better. Especially here instead of Bournemouth beach which undoubtedly is busier. Even at the peak of busy times we had loads of space. New restaurants going up, toilets, water re-fill, all the things! Nowhere to rent chairs or umbrellas so defo bring yours.

Brilliant beach with easy access. Good facilities including lifeguard, bins and foot washing stations. Access to a nice bar restaurant and ice cream. It was rather quiet for a sunny Saturday.

My sister lover here so I go quite often to visit and have a day at the beach... quite clean and beautiful on a sunny day. Recommend.

Fabulous. To say the waves were too big today would seem ungrateful! This end of the bay is mercifully less populated. I doubt that cash strapped BCP would feel able to provide shelter from the sun but that would be nice.

Lovely view! Was peaceful and nice to end a long road trip day out here, would recommend it for the sunsets, are Beautiful!
