Dear Mountbatten Grange Car Home, Its been three weeks since my father passed away and i have been busy sorting things out but i must write to you all at windsor to say you have made his two weeks a comfortable and in some ways an enjoyable time i cannot thank you all enough you also looked after me with coffee and sometimes something to eat, Maybe i can pick out two exceptional people Kate and Raz but overall everyone was brillant. I do not recommend. Take your parents home. My uncle begged to be taken home it was heart breaking. We took him home after a month. I’m sorry we ever considered it. They will deteriorate fast in a home.

I am very pleased with Mountbatten Grange, from the moment you walk in the atmosphere is very welcoming. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Loads of activities goingand the food is amazing . I couldn't fault anything. Best decision ever putting my aunt into this care home.

Comment: After having visited and researched many local homes we moved my mum (who suffers from Lewy Body Dementia) in to Mountbatten Grange in October last year. This was a very difficult decision but, from the start, the staff made every effort to get to know her and to welcome and settle her in. A few months in, she is indeed settled and content. These things take time - and the team working with my mum and our family knew that and have been patient, friendly and attentive throughout. We are very grateful to the staff, to other residents and their families for their care and attention. Mountbatten Grange now feels like family.

MB Grange only take calm and settled dementia sufferers. They do not deal with ‘challenging behaviour’. We had the door firmly closed on us this week. They would not even accept a call from a member of the psychiatric team at Wexham to discuss my father’s progress with medication. I have copy and pasted this from the email I received from them on Friday.‘We were assessing your father for our dementia suite which do not deal with challenging behaviours with the residents we currently have in the home.’So unless your loved one is ‘calm’ do not waste your precious time with these people. Our experience of their assessment process was awful, there is no warmth or compassion from the assessors, unlike other homes who really understand the challenges and how it devastates families.
