Lanswood

We love our new home and Lanswood have made the whole process an absolute breeze. We were quite particular with the upgrades we wanted but this wasn't a problem as everything was quoted for quickly and installed to a top level. Special mention to Charlie on the after sales team as he's has been very helpful getting any issues sorted shortly after moving in.

We've recently completed on a Lanswood property in Belgrove Place, a beautiful townhouse conversion of the Victorian St Clement's Hospital building. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to write this as our experience has been the antithesis to the previous review.We've had a few issues after we moved in, which is expected in a redevelopment of a building that is 150 years old, but the Lanswood team have been brilliant and prompt at immediately fixing our problems, with the managing director getting personally involved. I rate Lanswood highly, this is the advantage of dealing with an independent family run business.Thank you Lanswood.

This review is for the Chattowood development by Lanswood in Elmstead Market.We reserved a 3 bed plot in the estate and had reasonable communication with the developer throughout with Fenn Wright estate agent acting as a go between. They were very pushy with trying to exchange contacts early on even though the houses ended up being behind schedule which caused unnecessary pressure on us trying to speed up the buyers on our house.We were told the loft space could be utilised for storage but later on found out this wasn’t quite true and ended up with all sorts of weight restrictions that hasn’t been mentioned before we purchased, though Dan did look into this and find a compromise in the end, but I do wonder if Lanswood informed other buyers of the restrictions in the lofts on the estate.The purchase of our house ended up falling through which Lanswood were understanding about and gave us an extension to try and find another buyer which we couldn’t in the end. We asked for our £1000 deposit back (which was more than it should have been they crossed out £500 on the form and put £1000) as we couldn’t purchase a plot anymore and were told that due to “legal fees incurred” they could not do this but were happy to put the money towards another plot which I found an insult as they had been told we could not sell our house.I feel it’s such a shame how this all ended with Lanswood as I think they have the potential to be a great developer but unfortunately seem to have some of the same issues bigger developers have when it comes to refunds and compassion to people situations. When we drive pass the estate our daughter still asks when we will be going to our “new house” which makes the situation even more raw.In response to developer:Let’s not start spouting lies on the internet, I will screenshot and upload the phone records of our conversation if necessary. I find it pathetic that you and the company you work for are resorting to lieing as you can’t take a bit of criticism. The bottom line is the company you represent have withheld £1000 from us, so we would never use your company again and I hope potential buyers take notice of this review as to not experience what we have.

I have just reserved our first ever home together and just wanted to thank The Lanswood team. They have been very patient with us making decisions and could not have been more accommodating. Thanks Dan for the 6pm meeting!! Highly recommended.
