Today I passed my driving test. That is honestly something I never thought was possible. I had tried to learn previously and my instructor at that time was the sort whose mantra was “Chuck them in the deep end and they’ll learn to swim”. That wasn’t for me. After about 7 years of giving up I decided it was time to try again and look for someone who directly caters towards people like me.After doing quite a lot of research on instructors in my local area I found a bunch of glowing reviews for Chris – The Ethical Driving Instructor. Not just on Google, but many other places. I remember saying “This has to be a scam; nobody is this good / liked”. Well, it turns out, after 40ish hours of lessons with Chris – I can confirm he is a PHENOMENAL teacher.Everything about Chris’s way of teaching was exactly what I needed. From the very get go his warm, calm demeanour, his relaxing voice and best of all – his puns, disarmed me of any anxiety I had about driving. I vividly remember saying about 3 lessons in “I can’t believe I’m actually driving, and I actually feel calm”. Would you believe it I started to ENJOY driving and looked forward to my lessons!Chris is in high demand – and for good reason. He’s fantastic at what he does. If you get the opportunity to work with Chris, I have no doubt you will not regret it.Chris – thank you for everything you’ve taught me over the past few months and for being the kind of teacher I needed! I absolutely cannot recommend New Creation Drivers enough! Having failed my test three times before beginning a week long ‘mini-intensive’ course with Chris, my nerves and lack of confidence was holding me back from enjoying sitting in the drivers seat. Chris immediately put me at ease, with his gentle and calm demeanour (as well as some awful puns!!). I always felt comfortable and relaxed, and would look forward to our lessons together, which was a huge mentality shift from previously dreading the thought of driving. Chris is such a patient and knowledgeable teacher, who tailored our lessons to the areas I felt less confident in, whilst ensuring all the bases were covered so I felt amazingly prepared going into my test. His supportive and encouraging approach bolstered my confidence, to the point where come test day, I had conquered my fear of driving - and I passed my test!!Even though I only spent a week driving with Chris, I felt he genuinely cared, not only to give me the skills so I could pass, but also to help me develop a love of driving. Thank you Chris - you are such a blessing ☺️

Chris was amazing as an instructor. I was a very nervous driver due a bad experience with a previous instructor but Chris made me feel at ease and confident in my ability. I passed my test first attempt and I could not have done it without this guy! I am so pleased I chose Chris! He was pleasant, funny, patient and calming. I would recommend him to absolutely everyone! If you don’t choose this guy for his amazing abilities as an instructor, choose him for his puns! They’re great, trust me.

I have passed my driving test today and I’m convinced that wouldn’t be possible without the support of Chris.Chris has been my instructor since just before Covid-19 has taken over the world. So as you can imagine our lessons were very much on and off, however regardless of the restrictions and availability issues Chris has always looked after me, booking lessons whenever we could, recommending different resources and teaching me multiple techniques until I found what best works for me.Chris has helped me conquer so much, from an up-hill start to motorway driving and everything in between, including anxiety.Over the last year I’ve been out under a lot of pressure from work, I needed to get my driving license as soon as possible as the lack of it it was hindering me from progressing. The pressure has led to a really bad onset of anxiety. I have ugly cried in his car due to this countless times, but he has always been the calm and understanding. Whenever I’d get overwhelmed we would simply pull over and he would talk through things with me, make me see things from a more logical point of view, and if that didn’t work then his puns would make me crack a smile.I recommend him to absolutely anyone.I also wholeheartedly suggest you all check out his YouTube channel, it’s filled with test routes and short “show and tell” videos which have helped me massively.Lastly, I just wanted to thank you directly Chris, it was a pleasure and I’m very grateful for every hour spent with you, advice you have given me during those lesson will stick with me forever.Martyna

I passed almost 6 months ago with Chris. I wanted to wait to write a review so I could give a really in-depth one, including about how I feel about driving solo after passing.TL;DR - Chris is brilliant. Contact him today and get on his wait list!OK, longer review incoming…I started learning with Chris in early 2021, six years after my first round of lessons with a driving instructor (not in Nottingham!) who left me with major driving anxiety due to her unprofessional behaviour. I didn’t think I would ever learn to drive due to the fear after this experience, but due to a career change, I saw the benefit in being able to drive. I contacted Chris due to his experience and qualifications in helping drivers with anxiety.My whole learning experience with Chris was brilliant - even in the lessons where I felt totally defeated and overwhelmed. Chris was calm and “punny” throughout, informative and a relaxing presence in the car. He never made fun of my silly questions and he even recommended some great YouTube videos to help me understand things I couldn’t quite visualise (like what a clutch looks like on the inside!).I passed my practical on the second attempt in March 2022, about a year or so after starting lessons with Chris. Since then, I have grown more and more confident driving alone and I have even managed to drive nearly two hours to Nottingham on the motorway solo! Even though we spent minimal time on the motorway together, Chris has taught me invaluable skills for tackling even the most intimidating of roads for an anxious new driver. I’m really grateful for everything Chris taught me during my lessons with him - I am especially grateful for him instilling the belief in myself that I CAN do it (and do it safely!) after years of thinking I would never be able to do it.Thank you, Chris!

I passed just over a month ago with Chris on my first time which I never thought was possible. I honestly believe I was able to pass like that because of Chris and how he made sure I was completely ready before I took the test. I can’t express enough how grateful I am for Chris - he doesn’t just teach you how to pass your test he teaches you how to drive safely in a real life setting. And even more he entertains you with all his puns and deep thoughts! With driving being such a scary concept for me at the start, Chris made me feel so calm and made sure I could tackle every situation. Now that I have started driving on my own, I can confirm I enjoy driving so much and all the tips I have learnt is helping me greatly. I have honestly done so many stupid mistakes during our lessons but Chris has always remained patient with me and not once have I felt any negative feelings from him. Chris’ style of teaching is proficient and enjoyable; the constructive feedback he gives after every lesson as well as all the resources available in his website makes learning to drive so much easier. I’ll always miss Chris’ jokes and his very lively lessons! If you are looking for a highly competent and fun instructor, Chris is the one! Chris has been nothing but kind and supportive through helping me with everything with my driving. I desparately needed to pass my test due to living alone and not living near any family, and I could not have done it without Chris.
