Appalling quality of goods and customer serviceI bought my partner a jumper at the cost of £160.00 for her birthday which looked lovely when it arrived. However, when she hand washed it as per instructions on the label it shrunk. My partner (who is an experienced hand knitter herself) hoped the jumper would just shrink on it`s initial wash. However, when she hand washed it as per instructions a second time, despite being very slim, she had a struggle to get the jumper on due to it having shrunk so much. Given that this has never occurred with any other knitwear my partner owns (including those which she has handknitted herself), it is quite obvious that the woollen garments sold at Eribe Knitwear Ltd should only be dry cleaned. Indeed, when my partner informed a shop in Melrose who also sells Eribe knitwear about the problem she had, she was informed that other customers had experienced similar problems. When my partner contacted Eribe Knitwear in Galashiels (which is where I purchased the jumper from) they were less than helpful, and listed a totally unrealistic way of washing and drying the jumper (which contradicts the instructions on the jumper`s label). When my partner pointed out the disparity between Eribe`s care instructions and those on the label, Eribe informed her that there isn`t enough space on the label to give more succinct instructions. When my partner asked Shona (sales manager at Eribe) why they had failed to enclose specific instructions with the very expensive jumper, she replied that she expected people to look at their web site for specifics about the care instructions. It is quite likely that Eribe purposely ommit to include the specifics of their suggested care instructions in the full knowledge that if they were included with the woollen garments they sell (at very expensive prices) customers would promply return them. IE How can one possibly clean this jumper ie if you have spilled food on it when Shona says it has to be left relaxed in the water without any rubbing or any other form of agitation"? Also

I have bought an Eribe sweater from The Old Chapel Gallery in Pembridge, Herefordshire. I absolutely adore it. Can't wait to wear it now the cooler months are approaching.

I bought the Eribé sweater during a road trip in Scotland at the Judith Glue store in Inverness. I can't help myself, I wear it almost every day! I love the quality and it reminds me so much of beautiful Scotland.

I bought another lovely wool sweater (Alpine) for my wife and she is delighted. This time Eribe also supplied a special comb to remove pilling. Now one of her older Eribe sweaters looks like new - such a good idea.

Profit Before Customer Care!Since my partner had been ill for some time I bought her a very expensive jumper from Eribe (see photo below) in attempt to cheer her up. After wearing the jumper only four times and having hand washed the jumper as per care instructions only twice, the jumper had shrunk so much that it was unwearable. When we contacted Eribe, Rosemary Eribe admitted that the light colours used in the jumper were prone to shrinkage, and (reluctantly) agreed to exchange the jumper for a different garment. My partner and I were both appalled when, instead of keeping to her word, Rosemary Eribe sent the shrunken jumper back repressed to it`s original size, and recommending that it be dry cleaned to prevent further shrinkage. (please see photograph of Rosemary Eribe`s hand written note attached to the returned jumper confirming this). Due to the fact that the jumper had been repressed with a very hot and heavy steam iron (when the care instructions said a cool iron was to be used) this had resulted in further felting and the jumper being totally mishaped! It is quite obvious from the above that Rosemary Eribe is not a person of her word. This is also evident from the fact that she states on her website and care instructions on the expensive woollen garments she sells (such as the jumper I`d bought) that they can be hand washed, and then subsequent to hand washing causing shrinkage, she recommends dry cleaning! Unless you want to throw your money down the drain, I suggest you buy from a more reputable company who values customer care as much as they value profit.

We had to contact Trading Standards regarding this company misleading customers by having a photo of a woman with two knitting needles beside a caption stating that it can take up to 90 hours to hand knit a fairisle cardigan" (in attempt to justify the £185.00 they charge for them)

LOVE LOVE LOVE Eribe! I had been struggling to look for a gift for a dear friend, we've almost run out of ideas after years of friendship. I spotted a gorgeous pair of gloves on the website and contacted them, as my friend has sensitive skin. Their sales staff talked me through their products and the wools, very knowledgeable and helpful. The gloves arrived and they are perfect. Thank you!
