Excellent service excellent food. It is not cheap, but the price reflects the quality of the food and the service.Comfortable and not packed close to fit in as many tables as possible. My only criticism is that it may be a little bright in there and less intimate" than other places. But if you want a great meal with an excellent menu

If you are looking for basic pub food this is the wrong place to go. The food experience was Michelin class. The plating was simple with the main ingredient showcased. The vegetable were all placed on seperate plate.The duck was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. If in Tavistock you should not miss this experience if you are a food lover. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are really comfy with a rainfall shower in the ensuite bathroom. Bathrobes and toiletries are provided.The bar and waiting staff are really friendly and they serve an excellent selection of beer and wine.The food is superb. I had egg yolk raviolo, followed by lamb belly and devilled kidneys, then the raspberry soufflé for dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious, but my only niggle would be that I had barely put my cutlery down after finishing my starter and the waitress was at my table wanting to clear it. I'm all for attentive service, but I prefer a couple of minutes after finishing a course before the plates are cleared.Breakfast was really tasty too, with plenty to choose from. I was still full from the night before so I just went for the full Cornish.All in all a great place to stay and eat. Its a shame I live 350 miles away or I'd be eating here all the time!

Went for an evening meal. Quite expensive but it was tasty despite the small portions. No garnish, no whistles or bells but nice decor and surroundings. Staff not particularly friendly with the exception of one lovely waitress.

We were warmly greeted on arrival and the whole experience from start to finish was excellent. I had not eaten here for over 30 years but I will not be leaving it 30 years before we dine here again. The Scotch Egg starter was excellent, as was the Burger and the Cornish Curry. All the Team were friendly and personable and complimented the excellent food. Thank you.

A fish & chips to die for. Among the very best I've had & I've had fish & chips on 5 continents. What do great? The lightest batter around a fabulous fillet. Mushy peas full of flavour. And great chips - lots of people do great chips. The starter was a Scotch egg but with a ham hock surround. Beautiful food.

One of the Best meals we have had anywhere. Theorie fish and chips was outstanding. The chips are crispy outside but super soft insideWe also had the sea bream on a sauce of seaweed and brown shrimp. It was a taste so delicious i kept it on my.mind several days. Very attentive staff

Came here for food last night with a couple of friends & all three of us thoroughly enjoyed it.For starters I had the Scotch egg, cooked perfectly and paired with the small blue cheese salad it was a great choice. The chicken curry for main was one of the best curries I've eaten at a restaurant ( aside from a curry house ). Full of flavour, chicken thigh meat used & the home made tzatziki went well with the flat bread and I felt fat at full come the end!Didn't really need a dessert in all honesty but couldn't resist. You can't go wrong with a sticky toffee pudding either right!Finished off with a coffee, one of the best meals I've eaten out in a long time. Service was decent and the restaurant itself is a nice setting also.Looking forward to coming back!

Highly recommended for food. The best fish and chips I have ever had and they catered for my wife's allergies brilliantly cooking her something special not on menu. Will definitely visit again when in area.
