Amazing service. Found out my house was not earthed. They turned up on time dug a big hole in my garden and disappeared into it to cut the live supply from the street. They connected me to the network earth, put a new connection near my consumer unit and put a new backing board in to make it tidy. A few days after they had been you couldn't even tell where the hole was dug. All this for the standard fixed rate fee. What a change it is to have a nice service from trades people.

Couldn't be less helpful if they tried. Happy for an entire trading estate to be without power for a whole day, as well as blocking access to the estate for the preceding week.

Hi, I would like to give a big thank uou to Northern Powergrid for their kind help & support yesterday (9/9/18) regarding my disabled daughter- after they announced a power cut in her area of Washington- I contacted them to say she relied on electricity for hot food, hot water, heating, nebuliser & hoist also her profiling bed & asked if she could be made priority- I spoke to Ellie after informing her of my daughter's situation she informed me she would speak to her manager & co- ordinator & would get back to me - she rang me back to say they would provide a hot meal for her and provided a generator to keep her supply of electricity going as the power was going to be off for some time! I cannot stress enough how grateful we were to themfor their support especially Ellie who was very understanding of our situation & also Kieron ☺☺

Absolutely terrible service. We have averaged four to five power cuts a year over the past 20 years. Now we have two in two days. The service is actually getting worse!Doesn't look good for the winter and heaven help elderly people with no power.

2nd power cut in 2 weeks, first one 6hrs 30 mins, this one nearly 10 hours, still only fixed temporarily. How many more will we have before fault is fixed permanently. Too cold to be without hearing this time of year.

A re-edit of my first review;A little helpful advice for any new workers to Northern Powergrid. This experience is my own personal experience and is a true account.Initially I said “Firstly the people are friendly. No issues there” HOWEVER it has come to my attention that the management deliberately backstabbed myself and other staff.ALL EMPLOYEES AT NORTHERN POWERGRID ARE TEMPS. NO STAFF AFTER 12 YEARS AGO ARE PERMANENT.THERE IS ZERO OPPORTUNITY TO GO PERMANENT WITH NORTHERN POWERGRID.IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CAREER THEN I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACE.Hate and Spite is ingrained within the companies DNA!All the employment at Northern Powergrid is handled by Interserv and PerTemps.You will NEVER have the opportunity of a Permanent Role with Northern Powergrid.This is NOT something the company offer.There are “Managers” who have been on Temp contracts for almost 10 years... they seem to all believe they are immune from being Let Go with Immediate effect but they are so very wrong!There are NO ways to progress through the business. We were told this on our first proper day in the office.They offer a ‘BEST WELCOME’ Induction as a way of fooling you into believing you are joining the company but once you begin the role it soon becomes very clear that you are working for no reward.No matter how HARD or How LONG you work you will never have the Job Security or Job Satisfaction you realise you need.Be warned.Your employment also depends on whether your manager is having a Bad Day or it’s her ‘time of the month’. Don’t get on the wrong side.This is by no means the fault of the agencies, but of the People the are ruining Northern Powergrid.ALSO NOTE: The management Modus Operandi for Terminating your Contract is thus: Tell you that you are doing “So well” that you do not need a 1-to-1 this week!Then after your 4pm finish, you say Goodbye, See You Tomorrow, she phones the Agency to say that your “productivity is poor”!!Huh??Pay is £8.50 an hour, 37 hours a week BUT (and it is a HUGE ‘BUT’) it is a “ ZERO HOURS CONTRACT”!!!!Z E R O H O U R S C O N T R A C TYou are NOT Contracted to 37 hours, as you are told initially; your Timesheet states you are Contracted 0 Hours, which I was assured was Correct after pursuing an answer.Training is non-existent. You are being trained by other, longer serving TEMP staff (who sadly believe they are immune to the rules of Temp Work)They will hire and fire AT WILL.Of the large group of Temps that started on the day I started there is 1 left! All the others have either been asked to leave, simply because they have had interviews elsewhere (pre-arranged) OR have quickly realised that Northern Powergrid offers NOTHING in the way of a Stable, Secure Career, written “I quit” on a Post-It Note and left before anyone could stop them!YES ALL THE ABOVE HAPPENED!! Many Witnesses to the Tragedy that is Northern Powergrid PENSHAW!!If you are happy to TEMP for many MANY years then this is the place for you. Yay!If you have an Ounce of ambition, or any dreams of a Career, avoid this place like the Plague!!!Do not get sucked in.This is a true account of my short time with this company, and is written as a warning to any potential applicants. Many lies are told during your Induction; THIS is the most accurate account you will read; my account here.The role I was hired for was clearly a Data Analyst grade role, but Northern Powergrid (not wanting to PAY for a Data Analyst) decided they would advertise as an “Administration Assistant”.They pay the equivalent of £12,000 for a job that would easily pay £25,000!!Very poor recruitment practises from a company that gives little, to NO, sh17s for its VAST staff of Temporary, Disposable workers who DO work bl00dy hard for NO REWARD, No Bonuses AT ALL!No Christmas Bonus even for the long serving Temps.This is a revolting way to treat employees in 2019, heading into 2020!

Just had to leave a review of the fantastic customer service from Northern Powergrid. From my first call to report a problem, Kevin the surveyor and Paul the engineer visiting within a day and the contractor Chris and his guys, really excellent and extremely happy with work carried out. Thank you Northern Powergrid!

Cannot fault the service I received yesterday. Laura, who initially dealt with the issue of supply, did everything she promised to try and assist. In the space of an hour, action was taken and I received a return call to tell me what was to happen. The guys who came out (within two hours), worked in the pouring rain at the top of a supply pole to try and make interim repairs - which were successful. It's easy to knock organisations such as this, but I have nothing but praise for Northern Powergrid on this occasion - and I'm a tough customer! Sincere thanks Laura and the team.
