Halfords Autocentre Gloucester (Riga Wharf)

First time I have used Halfords, I had two tyres fitted here and found my wheels had been damaged, but the garage wouldn't take responsibility saying it was due to age. Despite photographic evidence of the damage, the area manager wouldn't accept my claim.I had to send repeated emails over a number of weeks to finally get a response, they wouldn't even inspect the damage in person - I won't be using Halfords again.*Update - Halfords have offered to contribute £10 towards the cost of fixing the issue.

Dave and the boys couldn’t have done enough for me. As we all dread, my MOT failed, and big time! I run my own business and rearranging clients, being without my car etc would have been a nightmare, and also there was no one at home available to come and collect me and/or drop me back off. The boys did everything they could for me and miraculously agreed to fix it for me that day despite them being beyond busy and with a million other jobs to do! You were honestly fantastic and I will never go anywhere else for my repairs, MOT, service, etc. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys deserve a medal! You made everything so easy, and I really appreciate you going above and beyond for me!

Failed MOT due to tyre sensor being faulty or inoperative, and the electronic system control warning light being on. Was advised £250 for just the investigations as to why. A quick google and a play about with my cars settings, changing the tyre load from eco to light soon solved these problems and took all of 10 mins to investigate myself. £350 to replace the headlight unit, which I bought a £3 bag of zip ties and secured and aligned the headlight, and passed the MOT elsewhere. £600 that Halfords were going to charge turned into a £3, 30 min job in total. I get that MOT has strict rules and don’t argue the fact it was a fail, but to be quoted £600 for something I, with no mechanical background sorted myself seems incredibly steep.

Very unprofessional approach and bad customer service from both worcester street and Riga warf staff. I have booked a MOT and Major Service at Worcester street branch and two days before the test date somebody called me and informed they cannot do the MOT on the same day and they have internally transferred the MOT to Riga warf branch. He confirmed there is no change for the Major service and it will be done as booked originally i take the car to the Worcester street branch 8.30 am and the reception guy said the entire booking ( MOT nd Major Service) is transferred to Riga warf branch and it will now rebooked to next week Wednesday 8th March. As i dont trust these peoples verbal confirmation anymore i went to Riga warf branch today to reconfirm this and as expected the reception guy informed me that they dont have any information about my vehicles bookings transferred from Worcester street branch and no slots available before my MOT expiry date. Now I have cancelled my bookings for refund and also cancelling my Halfords premium membership due to this kind of bad customer service and false confirmations from Halford staff.

Twice I have been here in the last few months and they have always been so good. Dale sorted my car both times and has been professional and helpful ...would highly recommend. Its hard to find a garage that you can trust these days but these guys are great!!

Very poor experience, never using Halfords auto centre again! Absolute scam of a place!Unprofessional and unhelpful service.

Good price to support and fit headlight bulb. Fast fitting friendly staff.Only issue was fitter didn't put access flap back correctly and it fell out. Luckily a strap is attached to prevent loss.

Peter Harvey was so helpful. I could not fault him in any way, great to have customer experience by him. Highly recommend.
