Lovey decor and staff were the first things noticed. The menu still seemed summery which was good as summer does seem to be dragging out (good thing also) and it was a bright and warm day sat by the window. The food was good (not sure about the fries, maybe just too crunchy after eating other dry ish food - the Arancini balls) and the drinks were great.I tried an espresso martini which was presented well and not too sweet. The second desert / drink was almost pure alcohol with some cream - I loved it.Will definitely be back if/when the menu changes for winter.

What a pretty pub in an off stream street. If you're lucky get the sofa and the armchair at the back! The Turkish coffee cocktail is amazing! Strong and sweet and if you're a coffee person you'll thank me later.Didn't come for the food but the mackerel was really good!I will definitely come back again!Oh and you can bring your dog along!

We went for dinner on Friday evening at 5:30pm and the place was packed and everyone sounded like they were having a great time. We walked in, found a member of staff and they quickly cleared a crowd from around a table to get us seated, delivered a bottle of water and glasses, poured for us and handed out the menu. She returned promptly to get our order for food and drinks. We both got cocktails ordered from a book's worth of choices. Took a bit of reading to decide. The food came soon after the drinks and was appetising and well presented. We had two courses ordered but eventually took a sweet to share between us. Dundee cake, St Andrews cheese and honey, different but it worked. By now it had quietened down a bit thank goodness. Enjoyed it.

Cocktail bar in west end of Edinburgh. Nice decor but always really noisy with the music ramped up so it's difficult to socialise. Friendly staff but find the cocktails are messed about versions of classics which would be much nicer in their original format.

I went to this place with my wife without a reservation and asked for a table for food at the entrance. We were offered a place at the bar where ordered some drinks while waiting for the table. After 30 minutes we saw an empty table for two and asked the staff if it was free but they said it was only for drinks and the chef was not taking any walk-in people for dinner. Also the same person told me that I've asked for a table and not specified we also wanted to eat, and the person who received us might have not understood or clarified. I asked if they could fix the misunderstanding by letting us sit anyway and eat, considering it was already 19:30 hs but they rejected the request even after being very clear about how frustrated I felt by their response. We left the place without any type of compensation besides a verbal apology. I am really disappointed with how I was treated as a customer and I only assign this behavior to this particular place, since I had an outstanding experience as a tourist in Scotland and this is the exception, not the rule. Also worth noting that the barman who provided our drinks at the bar was very nice and welcoming.

This is as good as pubs get. Really well-crafted cocktails and the menu puts a modern spin on traditional pub food, making it more making it more appealing to the younger crowd.

Food was lovely, small menu but good choices. Excellent service from staff considering it was a busy night. The bar was especially busy, but it didn't deflect too much from the overall atmosphere.

We popped in for a couple of drinks and ended up having a blast. The cocktail menu is exciting and well presented. We met a nice chap on the bar called Luke and he recommended a couple cocktails to reconnect us to our scottish roots. “The sun also rises” was my favourite by far. Very friendly atmosphere and excellent service. Thank you. We will be back to try out the food soon :)
