Focus Dog Training

We did puppy classes and, as we all enjoyed it so much, went back to do circus school. We’re now full time members and have learnt so much. Everything from leg weaves (forward and backwards) to stay, as well as supper handy things we use every day like middle. The classes are always positive and I recommend them to everyone.

We can’t recommend the team at Focus highly enough! We took our 12 week Lab puppy to the Puppy Course and think we learnt more than him! Rather than just learning basic commands (sit, stay etc.) we learnt about the psychology of a puppy, why they react in certain ways and how to understand and train behaviour. This course would benefit anyone with a new puppy! Really insightful and great fun - Alfie now loves his pub blanket!

I can’t thank Focus Dog Training enough. I reached out needing help with Milly, our now 6mth old Cockapoo! With her nervousness to the world, we had a puppy too fearful to go on walks, she would freeze and 9/10 times I couldn’t even get her walking to leave the car park. Six weeks later, Milly is transformed. Working on confidence, distraction and orientation through games, Milly is loving her walks, she is safely off the lead and it’s incredible and fantastic to see her really enjoying her outside space.

Focus Dog Training are brilliant. We took our 4 month old Border Collie (Alma) to puppy training classes and found them to be fun and extremely useful. Lauren is a great trainer and helped tailor the training to the needs of your particular breed. We also did a few sessions prior to the classes where Lauren came out to see us which massively helped. If you are looking to give your puppy the best start in life then definitely consider getting them enrolled with Focus Dog Training. We will definitely look to use them again for future training/classes.

I have had a few sessions with Focus Dog Training and each class has been well structured, informative and fun. My border collie puppy firstly found her feet at a series of group puppy classes where we learnt some great techniques to maintain focus and begin having the confidence to explore the world safely. She’s then progressed to going to some group sessions outdoors to hone in on skills to ensure she can safely be off lead, meet other humans and dogs calmly and learn some fun games whilst out on her walks to encourage focus and staying close by! Outside of the classroom, the team are always on hand to answer questions and queries about anything canine related. Would highly recommend to all!

Focus Dog Training has really helped our rescue dog Chilli to develop and become happier and calmer. The team are all empathetic, practical and hands-on - their expertise is applied to you and your dog specifically, to help you achieve results. We’ve had 1-2-1 sessions as well as attending weekly classes, which give us a chance to learn new skills and socialise the dog. I’d recommend Focus to anyone.

I used Focus Dog training with a clever, and affectionate little terrier who we picked up utterly untrained at nine months and were having difficulty with over basic recall. It’s been transformative and I can’t recommend Lauren highly enough. I feel as though I’ve been given an entire tool kit as she went through so much.

We’ve had 4 training sessions with Focus Dog Training and they have all been brilliant. Well structured, fun, thoughtful and responsive to our needs. We have a 9 month old cocker spaniel and we all needed some fresh focus on our training - both our adolescent dog and her humans. It’s been engaging and enjoyable. In addition, Lauren did a really excellent job of engaging with my 11 yr old, whose confidence and sense of feeling involved in our dogs life has grown.
