HARD WORK!!!! There's no path, not for the faint-hearted. It's more like a large puddle, but we can say we have been.Isolated, quiet, and serene. Was nice to get away from the world undisturbed.

Fantastic place to visit, well off the beaten path so if you can find it it’s breath taking, just don’t give up when you get to the forest you don’t have to much further to go. If you camp be respectful and don’t have fires, there’s clearly been a lot of wild camping in the forest and up at mermaids pool. Golden rule of wild camping is leave no trace and don’t have fires! Don’t stop wild camping for the rest of us!

This place is heaven. In Winter you get 40-80mph winds, rain, fog and privacy. In summer you get flies, knats and stunning views. I love coming here. The water there can be boiled, sealed, cooled and then drunk if your very thirsty. It's a home away from home. Very hot in summer and extremely cold in winter. Wind chill can be -18

Didn't actually manage to make it there. Review is more of a cautionary one. We parked in Bowden carpark and walked up the trail and it took about 45 mins before we vered off path as I thought I had found a shortcut. If you do this be warned it's very trecharous in parts with high ferns and footholes. Had to turn back before we made it but we could see where the pool would be. We probably could've made it but we're weary about time. Recommend following the trail for as long as possible.

Pretty uninteresting as a spot to head for, however, the lower valley was beautiful though overgrown. I did go for a dip, but the water was pretty boggy and murky as expected — def don’t want to bath there — go further down into the valley to the stream…

Lovely peaceful place so picturesque- wild camped here had a beautiful sunset but unfortunately the following day was low clouds and rain and wind so was keen to get back down to the car as quickly as possible whilst still completing a full circuit of a route I made up the night before heading out.

Gorgeous spot for wild swimming, amazing views and not too cold when we visited at the start of May. A strenuous hike to get there along a really beautiful river. Only downside was the the pool has a lot of mud/silt in it. Expect to get this in your costume and everywhere else! Wetsuit shoes are very helpful.

Lovely hidden gem, water level was fairly low today (on account of our recent lack of rain) but it doubles perfectly well as a picnic spot.The hike up is challenging, but incredibly fun - especially if you stick to the stream itself and don't mind getting wet.

Its just a pool. No proper track to go down but this pool lead us to woods and other nice views.
