I lost a loved one in November 2020 very suddenly and unexpectedly and dreaded having to plan the funeral as I was struggling to cope with the loss, after contacting several other FD's I went with Ashdown as I felt reassurance upon speaking to Clare on the phone, her professionalism put me at ease and helped take out the stress of it all. No request was too much to ask for and the team were always in constant contact about everything. On the day Matthew and the team ensured our loved one was given the respectful service he deserved amongst this pandemic. I cannot thank Ashdown Funeral services enough, for their care and attention to detail and the professionalism displayed was like no other.

Clare and the team were brilliant! Professional, accessible and communicative. They went the extra mile throughout e.g. photocopying key docs needed urgently at zero cost. Opened up on a non-workday to give family unable to take time off work 1-1- time with Dad in the chapel. They handled the process from beginning to end with professional courtesy that we hoped for. On the day of the funeral we were guided and directed throughout. Perfect!

Ashdowns was recommended to my family by a friend who had used their services. We were not disappointed. Clare was caring but professional at the same time. We felt that the process of organising the funeral was made easy as Clare listened to what we wanted and ensured it was all recorded. We knew when our decisions had to be made by and what was required of us. Clare kept in contact and the funeral went exceedingly smoothly even with it being during the covid crisis. Matt was our lead on the day of the service and It was very dignified and we never felt rushed. We, as a family, would thoroughly recommend Ashdowns.

Clare is amazing, she answered any questions we had, put our minds at ease & made us feel welcome whenever we needed to speak or see her. Donna on the day of the funeral was also amazing & was there to guide us the whole way & Sacha who conducted the service was just the best & we couldn’t of asked for anyone else to help us give our mum the send off she deserved, they are a great team & highly recommend them at Ashdowns.

The service my sister and I received from Ashdown Funeral Services was professional but also very personal. They looked after my dad like he was their friend. Nothing was too inconvenient. Thank you to Clare and the team at Ashdowns for helping us through a difficult time

I recently used Ashdown Funeral Services for my wife's funeral. Despite the incredibly difficult times with COVID, they were professional, friendly and understanding. Clare, Grant and Donna all took very good care of me and my wife. They were all very generous with their time and nothing was too much. You could tell that if they were allowed they would have given you a big hug! Thank you so much to the team.

Sadly my mum passed away in October. I cannot praise Ashdown Funeral Services enough. Nothing is too much trouble for Clare and her team. Clare introduced me to Sacha Ansell to carry out the service. Sacha, gave mum an absolutely beautiful send off. It is such a traumatic time, when you lose a loved one but if you want to make their finally journey as stress free as possible, I would certainly recommend Ashdown.

When my Dad died (07/11/2020), my family and I automatically went to the same funeral directors as we had used for my mum, 10 years ago, only to find they’d been taken over. We were worried initially, but our concerns soon melted away when we met the team.Clare has led us through the process skilfully and compassionately, and her unyielding support has been exemplary.Initially, I didn’t want to visit my dad in the chapel of rest, as I couldn’t imagine that he would look anything like himself, but after my sister visited, she convinced me that the embalming team had done an amazing job and that I should visit. I’m so glad I did. My dad looked so peaceful, as if he had simply fallen asleep. I cannot thank the team enough for this.The day before the funeral I wanted to weave roses into my dad’s casket. Clare couldn’t have been more accommodating! She was so supportive! Nothing was too much! Her empathetic nature is perfect for the job she does.Matthew led the funeral on the day and I can honestly say I felt like my dad and my family were looked after throughout. I even changed my mind on the day and decided I’d like to walk behind the hearse as my dad left our family home. Nothing was too much for the team and they switched as if it was planned! The team supported my sons and grandsons so they could carry my dad into the chapel.Their attention to detail and the time they spent with us all made it seem like we were their only clients! I highly recommend this amazing team and I thank them for their kindness.

As a family we a are extremely grateful for all the help, care and support provided by Clare. From the first phone call to even now a few weeks on from the funeral , she has been amazing going above and beyond to support us. Nothing seemed to much or too hard, she showed us she really cared for what we wanted and helped to make the whole process stress free.We knew from when we first met Clare that Lesley would be well looked after in Ashdown's care.We would like to thank Clare and the Ashdown' team for the amazing service provided.

Very professional service. Clare was extremely sensitive and very reliable putting together the right package for my sisters cremation. As a family, we are forever grateful for the efficient service and having Clare organised everything took a lot of pressure off my mum during this process.
