Compassionate and Professional Funeral Home ServicesReview:I recently had the unfortunate task of arranging a funeral for a loved one, and I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional services provided by John Ward & Son Funeral Directors. From the moment we walked through their doors and greeted by a lovely gentleman by the name of Simon, we were met with genuine compassion, professionalism, and unwavering support during this difficult time.They surpassed our expectations, ensuring that our family received the support we needed while creating a dignified and memorable farewell for our beloved departed.

My name is Carolyn and my daughter Emily and Maureen would like to thank John ward for their support and compassion for a difficult time in our lives. All the staff were amazing however Simon looked after us from start to finish, he was just an amazing person who dealt with everything with profession, thought, time and was such an amazing support for our family.Tracey was also very caring and professional in every way as a celebrant.I would highly recommend John ward as a funeral director, if you would like your loved one looked after in death and the family supported through a difficult time the people there are amazing and we can not thank them enough.

I’ll start with apologies that this is lengthy.As most people appreciate, the loss of a close relative is a traumatic time and when it comes out of the blue we aren’t at all prepared. So it was when my husband passed away recently and I had to make a call to a funeral directors, having not really given it any thought, but John Ward & Son had managed my parents funerals in 2007 and 2016 so it was they that received the call. We were keen to organise the funeral in a relatively short timescale to allow close relatives over from Australia for another family event to attend before heading home, so Andrew explored options at all the neighbouring crematoria that same day and found a date that could work.There is a fine line to getting the tone right when dealing with bereaved relatives and our funeral arranger, Simon, instinctively seemed to follow the lead of myself, my son and daughter as we met with him for the first time and put us totally at ease. A few days had passed and we thought we were well prepared to go through the details on the various elements of the service, for which we had some clear, if somewhat unusual, ideas. Simon declared himself ‘at our service’ and dealt with each aspect diligently, with sensitivity and good humour, including all those that we hadn’t even thought of, and we felt reassured that he ‘had our backs’ in making sure everything would come together in the two-week period, which indeed it did - he was an absolute star! Angela at the Northampton branch also deserves special thanks for ensuring the last minute changes to the order of service and book of condolences were sorted when I ‘lost’ an afternoon and Andy Jackson ensured last minute hiccups were managed, again with great compassion and care. A1 service indeed to achieve a ceremony that was an incredible tribute to our wonderful husband and dad. We can’t thank you enough.

Gail is the most wonderful funeral director. She was unflappable and kept me 'on it' when making arrangements for my Aunts funeral. She was amazing and I'd highly recommend her and this funeral service.

From the fist meeting with John ward and sons to the final resting place of Kim myself and Luke cannot thank the team enough , the compassion , thoughtfulness , and total professionalism they gave was absolutely outstanding . I am so glad we chose John Ward & Son for the arrangements for our mum. From the start, Simon treated us with professionalism yet compassion, providing valuable advice & guidance alongside tea and tissues. He gave us time to talk - not only about arrangements but about mum herself - and we left the office confident that mum would be in good, caring hands. On behalf of my family I would like to thank John Ward & Son Funeral Directors for the professionalism and care given to us recently. Simon McCourt at Daventry was kind and supportive throughout, explaining everything to us in a professional and compassionate way. He kept in touch regularly and his help with additional arrangements, including our choice of music, was very much appreciated and allowed the day to run smoothly. We also could not have wished for a more caring, professional and friendly Celebrant in Tracie Bloor. Tracie helped us plan the service and guided us through every aspect of the ceremony with respect and professionalism. Finally, a big thank you to Dale and his colleagues from John Ward for the way they chauffeured and supported us on the day with dignity and efficiency and with additional kindnesses which were much appreciated.

As a family we can't thank John Ward and Son Funeral Directors enough. From the moment we first contacted them and taking Dad into their care then being taken back to Daventry in the Limousine today after my Dad's funeral their compassion and service was exemplary. Particular thanks must go to Simon in the Daventry office, he made us most welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The send off he helped give my Dad was absolutely perfect. My family and I recently used John wards and sons for my fathers funeral after contemplating which funeral service to use we wanted to go for a family name and we are so glad we did.I had most of my dealings with Andy and Simon and they were both incredible. Though I did have the pleasure of meeting John who prepared dad for us to visit at the chapel of rest and made that experience as peaceful and comfortable as it could be for us all. Never did I feel like I was a bother or being rushed when they were around. Simon never made me feel like I was just another customer but treated me like a friend throughout even answering messages and calls outside of office hours.When simon and I first met I turned up unannounced and Simon happily went through everything with me and treated me with such kindness and sensitivity then on the day we had to go through everything like choosing the coffin and signing documents he never made me feel rushed or pressured he answered all our questions and was consistently sensitive and compassionate always taking our feelings and emotions seriously. at such a difficult time he made us feel at ease and confident in the processOn the day of the funeral Andy was amazing. He couldn’t have treated us with anymore sensitivity. He was right there with us the whole time for any of our needs but managed to also make sure we had space as a family.I highly recommend to anyone in the unfortunate circumstance to be having to plan a funeral to give John wards a visit they will go above and beyond what you expect you will not be disappointedFrom Ben, Nan and all the Hickmans
