Visited on a Sunday as part of a family get together and I had high expectations.Unfortunately the food wasn't good. The roast beef was extremely salty and barely edible. The roast potatoes were very weird as if they had been rolled in flour before cooking. The Prawn starter was a disaster...they place the avo & prawns on top of chopped salad so the lettuce is soggy and there's no bread with the prawn starter!!! Why not???Most of our party commented on the saltiness of the food.I was asked at the bar how was your meal" when I told the lady it was very salty she replied "well at least you don't have to wash up!" How rude!! Not even a sorry you didn't enjoy it

Went for a work meeting and Bbq. Great location, interesting building, and very friendly staff. The food was ok. It would have been better if the weather had been fine and the BBQ could have been outside, but hey ho.

First time here today, absolutely fabulous place beautiful location great views, a very warm friendly greeting , Gorgeous Room, but the most amazing meal in the evening. The fillet steak and sticky toffee pudding was the best I ever had! The young lovely female staff who served us were so confident efficient and so nice they made our night, highly recommend

We've been driving past this place for the last 6 yrs and decided it was time to try it. The location is nice although the back room would be better as an dining room.To be honest we were disappointed. The owner wasn't a natural host and seemed weary with the whole thing. The food was pricey so we were expecting better. The mussels were very salty and came with no bread. The lamb was very pink and pooled blood onto the plate, the other lamb was a strange square of shredded breast meat, coated in heavily spiced dust which was overpowering. We couldn't eat it. There was a sauce that seemed like it was out of a bottle.I think this place needs to up its game. There are so many better (and cheaper) places for a good dining experience.

I’ve been to the olive branch twice in the last month and each time has been disappointing. The first time the food was very mediocre for the price they charge. I had a hair in my meal and was spoken down to by the waitress. The second time I was charged 3 different prices each time I went to the bar for the same round of drinks. Each time it became more expensive! The service is slow and very aloof and we were squeezed into a corner where it was impossible to get out of unless the whole table got up out of their seats. Won’t be going back.

Pleasant surprise. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Changed our table without a fuss. Goats cheese starter was good. My husband had the scallops which he enjoyed and pigeon breast- cooked pink. 3 of us had roast dinners, 2 with mushroom, me lamb. Presented well, but feel for the money mash and cauliflower cheese could be included. Too full for desserts, then sat outside- lots of very pleasant outside areas and the patio doors in both rooms are great on these hot days. Will go again to eat.

Extremely disappointing experience and would not recommend! The scallop starter was so tiny and overcooked. Flooded with cheese and oil. Hardly and flavour. I think we paid around £14.00.The lamb rump main was around £33.00 or so and was also disappointing. The tomato and rosemary sauce that flooded the plate, reminded me of Heinz cream of tomato soup and the lamb was so pink it was almost raw. The top was crispy but was over salted. It came with two pieces of broccoli which were probably the best part. There was a pulled lamb type of crispy parcel that came on the side but it looked so bad when I cut into it, I couldn't stomach eating it. It looked old.My partner had the pate which was just dyer. One small piece of pate with two pieces of spinach leaves and one tablespoon of chutney. There was two pieces of toasted bread which looked ok. Nothing special at all. He had the pork main (pork three ways) it was nothing special either. No care or attention to detail either!I'd also asked for some other type of potato other than mash. I was given flavourless Dophinoise which I'd requested with the lamb. The handle was so hot on the server that it came in, I had scalded myself. No prior warning of this when the manager served it. It was just flung on the table with no care. The overall service wasn't great and the food was below average. I would not call this a fine dining restaurant as described.I suffer with anxiety and when I plucked up the courage to complain, the Manager totally dismissed my comments and provided me with no resolution. I said that we were not prepared to pay full price. I was then faced with a lot of attitude and an abrupt response. I ended up crying which was very embarrassing. I recieved no empathy or apology. I was totally dismissed as a customer and I felt small and un-welcomed.With the cost of living we felt completely ripped off. Hiked up prices with below average food. A misleading advertisement of fine dining. Not sure why people rave about this place. Unsure if the food was better quality before or if the chef was better previously. We wish we had not listened to the recommendations we were given. We give 1/5 stars. We will never return not even for drinks!

I eat out regularly and cannot see how they justify the prices charged. We had a booking but were then asked to wait in the bar area for over half an hour, even though the table we were eventually taken to was vacant when we arrived. We were seated in a really inconvenient position, with staff continuously needing to squeeze past our table to access the kitchen, making us feel completely in the way. The staff were pleasant and the food was generally good but overpriced in my opinion. With so many other lovely restaurants and pubs around, we won’t be returning.
