Weavers of Nottingham

I've visited Weavers 3 times over the last few years. Every time, I've been served by a different member of staff, and every time it's been a wonderful experience. Friendly, knowledgeable people who are genuinely passionate about wine.

I wanted to share with Weavers feedback on my experience today. I have been going to Weaver's for years to buy presents for friends and family because I have felt that I have benefited from the time that has been taken to find a good recommendation. Today, I turned up to get my Dad one of the other whiskies from a group previously rcommended to me as he has loved them all, but on arrival the shelf with whiskies was bare because they were in the middle of a refurb. It felt like it was an inconvenience that I was there as the man was rushing around doing what for him were more important things. When I tried to start to explain the previous bottles I had he didn't know them and instead wanted to recommend one that was like a Macallan as that was my previous starting point with Weaver's all those years ago, and wasn't interested in finding the other bottles, so I had to try and call people to help him out. Usually you would just be able to point to the bottles on the shelf but today this wasn't possible. He left while I was on the phone and didn't come back. I'm sure he did at some point, but putting everything together, with the refurb he clearly had more important things to do than look after customers. My recommendation to Weavers is to close while you undertake this process. Unless you are able to either win a lot of new business to replace that lost such as mine, or take an approach that understands why people would come to you in the first place it may be better not to damage your reputation with customers during this process. What I was shown today is that I don't need to make the effort to go to Weavers and spend more than I need to. I can canvas a broader expert opinion online vs the first recommendation that comes in to someones head because they have better things to do. I feel bad for all the work that was put in by all previous staff, and it shows how quickly trashed all that goodwill and work can be trashed. I have sympathy with businesses at a difficult time and it isn't the first time that I have seen an owner under pressure treat customers as an irritant. It seems like now however more than ever is a time to treat hard won customers as if they have value.

What a fantastic service! Great advice on everything I was looking for (and more ;)).Went in for a few bottles to take on our holiday next month, and left with a few more!Advice was spectacular. I can not remember the last time I walked out of a shop and thought WOW! This was definitely a WOW moment.A great warm and friendly welcome and a great walk and talk through of selections that suit my taste buds.Think I will actually start a little wine book now, so I can remember my favourites, as I for sure will now be popping in more often, even for those weekend delights.Within half an hour, I for sure learnt that this shop stocks not only specialities, but some great wines for any occasion, including your weekend tipple.Most likely be back even this week for my weekend selection.Thank you! For sure you have gained a customer who does not actually live locally, but is now even more excited about her new office location as it is just up the road from my new favourite shop!

Superb service today from Philip Trease. Incredibly helpful and polite when I visited to buy three bottles of wine for my friend's 50th birthday. Also, I had an interesting chat about the historical side of Weaver's which harks back to 1844. Keep up the superlative service Philip and family.

I came here for a Christmas gift for my partner. The guys were super helpful, found exactly what I needed, even when I didn't know precisely! My fiancé was really pleased with his gift :)

The best wine merchants in Nottingham.The team are incredibly knowledgeable about all wine and spirits and Weavers has a truly superb collection of wines that are well above the mass-produced fare you find in supermarkets. And if you fancy your whiskies they also have a wide range from across the world.I have been coming to Weavers for my wine for over 20 years, and see no need to go anywhere else.If you appreciate your wine, this is the place to come.

Went in to enquire about a type of vodka, although they didn't have the one I wanted, after I'd explained the flavour. The gentleman recommended a different one, even giving me a taster.Glad they did go have the one I wanted as the recommended one was better.He also introduced me to gin, providing tasters as he explained his point.Wonderful service, honest (from what I experienced, correct) opinion and fair prices.
