Food for dinner and breakfast was terrible. Bathroom shower had a slanted wall so that you have to tilt your head and body to take a shower while water splashes on the floor. This place is in need of an complete overhaul. For the price paid I expected more. The hotel is in a nice location and staff was helpful. This area needs more larger hotels that know what they are doing.

Room was just dirty. We had to ask the staff to replace the towels from the previous guests, bring us a new cup to the bathroom and toilet paper. FYI, new towels came with a stain. Enormous dust on the floor.Food - alright, Fish&Chips obviously with a cheap oil, impossible to enjoy/even finish. Dirty cups.Staff - nice, no complaints here, although seems unsurprised by the hygiene quality of the hotel.Nicest thing: view from the window.Overall, price certainly DOES NOT MATCH EXPECTATIONS.If you can, go stay somewhere else.

I spent a night in 2019 while visiting Skye Island, I enjoyed my stay, the rooms we're clean, the staff was great. The view outside the hotel is breath taking. I recommend this establishment.

This Inn had so much potential and I think it must've been so much better as an independently owned hotel before it became part of a corporation. The location is excellent, the rooms facing the loch are amazing and the service wasn't bad either but I would never stay here again because it was absolutely filthy. The carpet probably hadn't been vacuumed in over a month, there was hair and debris all over it and we didn't want to walk on it without our shoes. There was thick dust collected everywhere you could imagine like the headboard, down the side of the bed. When I tried to move little paper doily on the desk that the kettle was on, it was stained, dried and crumbled into little pieces because it had not been replaced in who knows how long. There was disgusting mold and dust and hair in the bathroom. It looked like the only thing they clean are the bedsheets, the sink and bathtub but everything else has not been cleaned in a long time. I brought this to the front desk's attention and the Russian lady was understanding but no housekeeping was available (I would've been happy to borrow a vacuum and do it myself even). Either they are short staffed or the housekeeping staff are lousy at cleaning. Don't even get me started on the dinner we were served. All that said, the staff were friendly.

Bearing in mind that this is a 3-star hotel one cannot judge it against 5-star establishments. On that basis, having spent a couple of nights here with a tour group in early August [2023] I found it totally acceptable on most all counts. The room was nice and clean albeit not palatial in size or decor, but nevertheless perfectly alright (except that a ‘face’ mirror with enough light to enable one to shave and comb one’s hair would have been nice!). The two (Full Scottish) breakfasts and evening meals were perfectly cooked and hot, tasty, and the menu was reasonably varied. And finally, all the staff I dealt with (including the overworked restaurant and bar staff) were pleasant and helpful.Overall, therefore, I was quite happy with my overall experience at the Kings Arms Hotel.

Very run down. The floors aren’t even flat I tripped walking around a corner.I asked for ice and was told only a small cup because it’s for making drink at the bar, great prioritiesI was very itchy after sleeping in the bed, had two bumps appear (probably bed bugs)No phone in room so when they put me far on the end of the building it discourages asking for anything, like iceAt least the kettle worked and there was hot water, good enough for one short nightThe young lady operating the breakfast area was super kind and accommodating

Room 111: One positive about the rooms were the view and the size of the windows. The bathrooms need to be thoroughly cleaned due to the presence of significant mold. The bed mattresses also require an update. One mattress smelled like urine. Also, the hallways smelled musty. A humidifier is needed to help with this issue.Service: One positive quality about the service was the service. One staff member did a nice job managing a conflict from a client. Staff appeared to be short staffed, but observed trying their best.

The location is great, just off the Skye bridge and the rooms in themselves are fine. I slept well in the bed and the young staff members are helpful and nice.Unfortunately the bad reviews are not overstated. I personally like old hotels as they can have quite a bit of charm, so I am generally not a complainer. But upon entering the hotel hallways there was a musty smell, a mix of old cigars and dampness. The room looked clean, the bed was freshly made, but the air in the room was thick, smelt of moisture and felt really unhealthy. We left the shower door closed, since there indeed was a lot of black mold in the corners of the shower. The overhead ceiling was very creaky. The food looked quite allright, but we chose to eat out, so I can't judge.I slept in many backpacking hostels which felt cleaner than this hotel, which really is a shame. The hotel, with proper cate, could be a really nice place. Anyhow, we were glad to be able to check out in the morning.I hate to say it, but this is definitely the worst hotel I stayed in in Scotland.

This was a quiet, cute area to stay in! The location was breathtaking as you are right in the water and can enjoy views of the sunset. Our room was comfortable, although our shower door didn’t stay closed so there was quite a bit of water on the floor. I would avoid the restaurant. The food wasn’t bad, just very bland. Overall, I would stay here again!
