Ok place for a hostel. Some matresses were good, some not. Major issue may be the other people staying here, if they are polite and quiet or not.

Liked the area nice working harbor with walk to Neptune's steps. Train station on site so you can watch the Jacobite express passing daily.

Location lovely. Was for 3 adults, found out day before it was twin beds and a bunkbed. Only 2 comfy chairs for accommodation for 4 adults? TV size of an ipad. Fridge not plugged in and when rang for advice was told will be over next day, noone came. No details for oven either. Shower appeared blocked. Furniture dated. No curtesy call from owners at all. Avoid accommodation, over priced but area is beautiful.

Slightly different as it look on the pictures. I think it could be very good but at the moment looks a bit neglected, need some care on bathrooms, doors, room heater and the cleanness can improve. The staff was nice and friendly though, and is very well located.

The Bunkhouse is amazing and in such a wonderful location right beside a canal basin with boats and nearby trains to watch. The staff go beyond and make you feel very welcome . We were 3 females aged 50 and 64 and the apartment catered well for our needs .

Basic comfortable bunkhouse with good heating, comfortable beds, strong shower and kitted out kitchen area. What makes this special is its location:-the Jacobite Steam Train comes by every few hours.-the wreck of the Old Boat of Caol is nearby. Definitely worth of an instagram snap or two.-an easy walk up to Neptune's StaircaseThe bunkhouse is easy to find & get entrance with a key-lock box. Free dedicated parking lot. Sleeps 4 easily. Surrounding area is beautiful and within a short drive from grocery and other facilities + Fort William, Nevis, and distillery. We'll be back!

Stayed in the Blacksmith bunkhouse for a week in a group of 14 paddlers. The bunkhouse itself is great. Good communal area, decent kitchen. The beds are comfortable, if a bit short (I'm a very average 5'11). One of the showers has been broken all week

Great rustic-feeling bunkhouse. Kitchen had anything you could (reasonably) want including pots and pans of all sizes, measuring jugs, whisks... More than just the basic crockery plus one pan. The beds were very comfy and offered a good night's sleep. Location overlooking the loch was well situated for climbing Ben Nevis - only a 7 minute drive to the starting point.

We spent 4 days as a family (with a toddler!) and the experience has been great. Tina (manager/owner) was nice and explained everything promptly. The apartment itself was cleaner than some hotel rooms I have been in and the equipment was enough for a place you only use for sleeping and eating with so many things to explore around.

Our stay here was atrocious. We had booked an apartment and they moved us to a dorm with no explanation—which was like being at church camp or something with uncomfortable bunk beds. There was no WiFi in our building; we had to go to another building to use it and we weren’t allowed to stay in that building. There was one faulty toilet for several families. I told the lady the 1 toilet wasn’t flushing correctly and she did nothing. No towels. There were 3 doors that you had to go through, each with a different lock, and the lady running the place kept coming through and locking them?? It was ridiculous. So if you were inside, you were locked inside. Finally, The lady charged us for two nights even though we left early because we couldn’t stay there.Uh response to her response below—Hilarious that you wouldn’t “go out of your way to help folks” when you weren’t helpful from jump street and you actually complained about tourists to our faces upon check in.Yes we were moved with no explanation. We tried to get an explanation several times with no response. Have the emails to prove an attempted contact.Yes we were sharing a bathroom with other clients. Because the toilet wouldn’t flush normally, their kid kept on clogging the toilet so explain that.No we weren’t allowed to stay in the building with WiFi. We had a separate set of keys to the building, which we were hassled for several times because we weren’t allowed to stay in that building because she wanted to check other people into that building.AGAIN, if you’re going to stay in Ft. William, stay somewhere more comfortable.
