West Berkshire Community Hospital

Took my Wife for an MRI scan. Parking easy (Pay by machine which is in the main hospital building) when leaving. If a blue badge holder take badge with you and enter reg number in tablet at reception for free parking. Radiology efficiently run and was on time when we went.

Easy to make an appointment. Lovely members of staff. Seen very quickly and treatment and redressing of finger wound performed with care. Excellent.

amazing experince, really easy to find the correct way to go. had a bad experince prior at reading hospital but the MRI staff made it very relaxing (as relaxing as a MRI could possibly be) let me wear a gown over my top so i wasn't uncomfertable. have a slight phobia of injections so told me when i was getting it, what was going to happen. great staff.

West Berkshire Community Hospital is kinda like a branch off Royal Berks along with the Bracknell hospital. I’ve been to West Berks numerous times. Had surgery here (my foot, nothing major, tip, get good health insurance you don’t want surgery done under local anaesthesia in most cases, maybe I’m a wuss who knows). Can’t fault West Berks. From outside it looks bland and uninspiring. Inside. The NHS staff are cool. Can’t fault them. Lots of scanning devices here, fixed and mobile. Sleep clinic here also. Car park is pay inside before leaving. Not expensive just remember to pay. Can’t fault the place or the staff really.

What shambles the NHS is becoming truly. I have been given an URGENT/EMERGENCY form to get blood tests done by my GP due to rapidly declining health. My GP before I left stressed how urgent it was for me to get them today. I take the form to the blood test receptionist and was met by the rudest lady ever! Who told me ‘it wasn’t her problem and to call tomorrow’ this is not the behaviour you expect from one of the faces of the NHS. I was in the hospital for less than 5 minutes and was still charged for parking too! I sincerely hope technology like AI takes over the roles of incompetent staff ASAP or the whole service gets privatised as it seems to be the only thing that will save it at the point.

We had to wait almost 2 months for a routine blood test. When we arrived at reception we were advised that my test appointment was already out of time" and the lab might refuse to process the results. This was despite the fact that when we made appointments the GP request was fully valid so computer said "yes"! But the 2 month delay took us over the threshold! Crazy computerised system that fails patients! We offered to leave or call our GP surgery but after some discussion the blood tests went ahead! Highly frustrating & stressful experience!"

I took my neighbour today for a CT scan today, what a great experience. The parking was easy and cheap, seen on time, staff very friendly and informative. This is so different to taking my Mum and Dad on various appointments to Hillingdon, Northwick Park and Wrexham Park hospitals, all of which were poor experiences. Well done Thatcham !!

Was so impressed with how smoothly my audiology appointment went, compared to other hospitals.Carpark is ANPR so you pay on way out, but didn't have to queue at all.Appointments running like clockwork (and for the NHS that's a miracle!)Staff were very professional.

Booked an blood test appointment 7 weeks ago, turned up on time for a 1.50pm booking, told there was a delay of nearly 60 minutes. I could not wait that long, I have a very dissabled person at home who cannot be left that long. I am not willing to accept that level of Patient ABUSE from the NHS, so I left.
