I’ve been an avid customer of H&C over the last couple of years. Today, I visited the Jermyn Street store for the first time to purchase a suit.The service I received was nothing less than phenomenal. I have a bodybuilding physique, therefore, proportions on a suit for me is quite tricky. Nevertheless, Sofia and Derrick (the manager, I believe) (if I recall their names correctly!), were impressively attentive and looked after me with great care. I was so impressed with the service, I decided to purchase two suits the same day!Derrick recommended a tailor and went above and beyond by personally escorting me to his chosen tailor a few streets away! Everyone was so polite and courteous, I felt it was a truly hospitable service. Thank you to everyone at the Jermyn Street store. I will definitely be coming back for all my suit and tailoring needs as usual. See you again once I outgrow another fine suit!Adeel A.

The customer service was horrible and I had to wait for at least an hour to get a hold of one of the staffs.Then to add into the misery, Alexandra took more than two hours to actually assist me with the suit. She was alright during that process but when I came back to pick up my suit, it was horrible. My wedding suit felt like a halloween costume and since she was not on shift, I was being assisted by another staff who accused me of choosing a classic fit trouser when it was alexandra who told me to go for it when I was comfy with the slim fit trouser.Furthermore I was stunned on how he was responding to me and how it felt like he was actually paying me to buy that suit. Such a horrible experience and I would not possibly return back for another suit all due to the stunning poor customer service.

I had a great experience after looking for some formal shoes here. I was looked after from the moment I walked in and felt at ease. I was left directed but not pressured, and tried on at my own pace. The sales assistant was a great help and was very pleasant to talk to - many thanks, I’ll be returning. The service here was exactly what I was looking for.

Eddie and his manager lead the pack of absolutely appalling, woeful and disgraceful customer service. Eddie is 100 percent certified dishonest and the dishonest conduct is supported by the manager of this “flagship” store.All the negative reviews about customer service and lack of quality in clothes are absolutely correct. This used to be a quality brand and the quality declined to the point where one could say it’s a decent / okay brand but not the best. I can safely say that the quality has deteriorated significantly and no longer of satisfactory quality.Buyers beware please - these guys are as dodgy as dodgy gets. Eddie should be titled “Dodgy Eddie” for dodging responsibility and truthfulness. If there is a hall of fame of dodgy dishonest salesmen, Eddie’s name should be on it. In case he gave me the wrong name, I am talking about the african man with the beard and bulky frame.

I bought a suit at the store and asked for it to be delivered once it had been adjusted.The store failed to deliver it and advised that this was not what I had requested - I don’t live in London and I didn’t want to travel to London to collect it.They finally sent it and I found that none of the adjustments had been carried out to the trousers. I then had to send these back. They sent me another pair.I was promised a refund for the issue with the trousers, but only if I travelled into London to the store. The cost to get there would have made it pointless.To add further insult, on taking the suit out to wear it I found that a good amount of the stitching on the jacket had come out. I contacted Aquilla at customer services, with whom I had been in contact a good few times about the previous issues, but have received no response.H&C have shown themselves to be thoroughly inept and severely lacking in customer service values.I would appreciate if someone could respond to my emails and arrange for the faulty jacket to be replaced

Picture this: the year is 2023, it's a Saturday at the start of November, there’s a chill in the air and the Christmas lights are up on regents street, party season is upon us. You walk through the door of Hawes and Curtis to a to a warm welcome on the look out for a dinner suit to don in preparation for the festivities to come.The selection is strong but the classics are classic for a reason so that’s where we start. Being a rugby player the build doest lend itself to suits, but in a moment of confusion and despair, Alehsandra is a light in the dark. A friendly, insightful voice to help guide shoppers to sartorial bliss. Equipped with just some pins and an efficiency that only comes from experience she made a nice suit something special, guiding us through the alteration process with ease. She made what could have been a chore of a shop into a light and joyous experience where we left feeling like we had something magical.

Oct 23I am generous with one star. I purchased four shirts for me son who has started college. After one months use and two are faulty (see photos, one bobbled collar and other collar opening up from main body of shirt). I returned to the store and was advised there was nothing they could be done due to not having a receipt. I was able to demonstrate the payment on a bank statement and the shirts are brand new. What a joke. I wrote the H&C customer service and they couldn’t help as it wasn’t an online purchase. My advice, keep clear as these products are clearly not the best of quality.Updated Nov 23It is not the returns policy I am unhappy with, it is the quality of the shirts. It was clear to see the shirts were nearly new (used a handful of times) and faulty but your policy is clear. Albeit your head office has advised with the date of the purchase I had on my bank statement, the receipt could have been retrieved from the store till system but not now as the retrieval date has passed. Shame that wasn’t offered by the store manager, too much effort I suspect.Thanks for your response but in the future I will take my business elsewhere.
