Very nicely done up!Restaurant has a nice vibe to it, with a good variety on the menu. Included breakfast was really nice as well.Located right at the heart of Harleston, surrounded by a host of cafes and shops readily accessible.My only point of criticism lies with the presence of a few too many flies. There were about four flies persistently buzzing around during dinner, and two or three in the room/bathroom. It didn't pose a major issue, but it was slightly bothersome during meals and rest. I would recommend some form of effective fly control, as their presence can be somewhat off-putting when one is trying to enjoy a meal or get a good night's sleep.Despite this minor issue, I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone passing through.

The food was good, a little pricey but worth it. We both had a Sunday roast, and it was really good, but we missed out on green vegetables. This was on the menu as an additional extra, but reluctant to splash out on something that really we consider to be part of a roast dinner.Maybe the price could be dropped to £15 to then allow people to spend the additional £3.50 to get greens added, otherwise it just works out a bit too expensive when you add on drinks and pudding.We would return, probably on special occasions.The place itself is really nice. Surrounds a nice vibe, quirky decor, and calming ambience.Far too warm in there though, turn the heating down, was glad to get out in the cold for some fresh air.

Loved the room and loved the shower. Only thing I would say is that we were told by phone & email that if we arrived early we could leave our luggage at reception & they would be taken to the room when it was ready. Only when we arrived we got told they would be left at reception even when it was unattended.

Situated close to the centre of Flixton J D Young provides accomodation most would associate with an older building which provides good accomodation. The bar is used by locals which is normally a good sign by my books. The restaurant, as we found, is very popular as illustrated by the recommendation it is very wise to book a table if a guarantee of one is desired.The hotel, whether they be catering, waiting, bar, reception were all without fail welcoming and helpfulWith its location J D Young provides an ideal base for visiting museums such as the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum or the Norfolk Tank Museum.No complaints over our stay although on one occasion it was difficult to find a hotel - parking - place.

The restaurant is perfect for any special occasion/celebration meal (if it wasn’t so pricey we would go more often).The food was delicious and well presented, the staff were friendly and efficient and the decor/ambiance was excellent.A really enjoyable place to have your evening (if you go into it expecting high prices).We’ll definitely be back.

Second visit here and it was again very good. Our previous staff were excellent as were Georgia and Rachel today, again they added to the occasion and made the 93 year old birthday girl feel very special. As others say food is excellent and portions are enormous especially for the puddings!

What an absolutely beautiful place to both stay and dine. The attention to detail, from piped butter in little dishes, to the constant checking on our wellbeing, was absolutely second to none. I am going to recommend this hotel to friends who want to enjoy this magical experience. Thank you so much for a truly magnificent weekend!

Great hotel and really nice staff.My only pickle was the lack of sign/directions in the hotel telling where your room number is. I find myself opening random hallway doors like a maze to count the numbers. A few signs indicating where your room is would be perfect.Also the handheld shower head for room 11 didn't work but didn't bother me really.Will stay again when I'm working this direction.Cheers,Warren

I booked the conservatory for a special family meal and it was very special indeed! We were welcomed by friendly staff and were seated in the lounge area of the beautiful restaurant. We were asked if we would like to order drinks whilst we waited. ( a short wait)We then went through to the beautiful conservatory and settled to look at the menu. A fabulous choice and my dietary requirements were discussed with me, quickly and quietly.The food was amazing and the overall experience was even more amazing.The waitresses were professional, efficient and very happy to help.We shall definitely be back as a large group again.Thankyou
