Islay Frigate Hotel
Arrived ready for a evening meal only to be told they weren't serving, this meant we had to source a meal else where!Breakfast was only just fair, portion size small, coffee strength weak.Room was clean enough, TV good selection, ensuite very small.Taking all into consideration I think the asking price was way too high, £100/95 with discount.

Great stay with a room on the sea view and close to the boat for Islay.. bar is cool with a great ambiance. The only point is that the sea view restaurant was closed. Thank you.

If your looking to have your booking honoured for the amount of days you have reserved and paid for and service where you don't need to repeat yourself several times give this place a hard pass! My parents and In laws booked months in advance as I was getting married close by and the whole experience was shocking.Both sets of parents booked for 2 nights and paid for in full, Bar staff was friendly initially but struggled with simple orders. Website stated a restaurant was available but on arrival it was made clear they don't have the restaurant open, the lady there who was the manager was abrasive and very unhelpful.The first night was OK but my parents decided to drive home the night of the wedding as they couldnt face another night in the place but my inlaws decided to stay only to find out their room had been given to other guests and all their belongings moved and placed in another room not suitable for their needs!!! No warning and no permission to touch their things!!!! A weak apology doesn't cover what they did, offer of free drinks doesn't cover the absolute shambles this place is.DO NOT RECOMMEND, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE, UNPROFESSIONAL, LOW STANDARDS AND ALL ROUND DIVE.

Clique bar. Don't waste your money on the jukebox. The barmaid will delete it if it's not her taste in music. We are bar owners berthed in marina visiting Tarbert. We recommend Corner House bar along the street.

Lin is such a sweet hostess, and she gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived. Our rooms were surprisingly cozy (reminded us of a countryside cottage except with modern appliances). We absolutely loved it, especially grabbing a pint from the downstairs bar before retreating to bed. The view of the harbor is also beautiful!Tip: While the bar downstairs is not noisy at all, the other hotel guests on the same floor can be so I would recommend packing ear plugs. Otherwise, great stay!

Excellent and well worth a visit. Refurbished to a very high standard along with a brilliant menu. Our group had various meals and all were tasty and extremely good value. Added to this it is ideally located for visitors and has beautiful views over the harbour. I will definitely be back.

Great quint place to stay. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Pub downstairs, not noisy at all and great to have a beer right there.

Had a lovely stay staff are very friendly room with sea view was excellent loved looking out while sitting with my coffeeBreakfast was just as i asked brown bread with two pouched eggs nothing was any bother .Will be back soon
