The Brogue Trader T/A Loake Shoemakers Bath

Best shopping experience in ages! Went into the shop to look for some boots I'd seen in our home town. They weren't on display but an alternative colour was which I tried. Tom informed me that the colour I wanted was available in other shops and on sale. He then arranged to have a pair sent to my home address. Ended up buying two leather belts also! Great service and would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Having bought many pairs of shoes from this shop over the years, I can safely say that this is the best shoe shop in Bath. James and the team always offer a first class shopping experience, with fantastic advice and knowledge alongside the very best customer service.

I'm surprised I've not left a review for this shop as I've used them loads. Absolutely brilliant at what they do and they care about what they do. The shoes they sell are excellent quality and they have a great loyalty scheme as well. First class - if there were 6 stars......I'd give them that

I was on the hunt for a pair of boots that would last me a lifetime rather going through pair after pair of boots that you can’t resole. This was for sustainability reasons and also because I find buying boots such a difficult process because it’s hard for me to find boots that fit.I came across Loake through a recommendation of a friend. The majority of their products are made in England, can be resoled and I was told their customer service was one of the best on the high street. All my boxes were ticked and I was not disappointed.When I visited their Bath store I was made to feel very welcome. The person who served me was called Tom, he asked me questions about what I would be using the boots for and helped me select the right boots (and left!) and size after he measured my feet. I sat down in a winged back leather chair drinking a beer whilst trying on boots. I felt like an English gentlemen from the 1800s. I eventually decided on a pair and went away a happy man.The best part for me was that after a couple of wears the boots were causing me a little trouble still as the leather is so tough (a testament to the quality materials they use). I rang Tom and told him my issues. He welcomed me back to the store where he stretched the boots and once stretched, they were perfect. Loake are very committed to both their product and customer service!Thanks Loake and Tom for your help. I will be back soon to buy the Chatworths!

This review is years overdue, the best place for knowledge, top quality craftsmanship as well as by far the best customer service I have ever received. The personal touch is amazing and I would recommend anyone looking to buy quality shoes to visit immediately, be careful though you will become obsessed. One of the best shopping experiences I’ve had in recent memory. Tom and the team at Loake’s were absolutely delightful when I visited recently to purchase a pair of loafers.I wasn’t too sure if I’d make a purchase but Tom ensured I was measured up and found a pair that fit perfectly, and went out of his was to make me feel good about the purchase. We even had a lovely coffee and glass of bubbly while making some small chit chat about men’s shoes and how to dress well.The staff were some of the most knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate I’ve come across at any store ever.Truly a delightful experience — the kind of shopping experience you might imagine when thinking of “classically British men’s shoes”.I’ll be back when I next need a pair of shoes and I’m in Bath!

My husband and I visited this store to find a birthday present for him whilst on holiday in Bath. The customer service was excellent, because of this we ended up walking away with 2 pairs of shoes! Staff were extremely friendly and informative. A lovely experience.

Incredible service and awesome shoes. If you like a quality experience when you make a purchase this is the place to go: James and Tom instantly made me feel I was in the right place - I know exactly what I like and nothing was too much trouble. They answered every question for me in a manner that told me my satisfaction is as important to them as it is to me. I went in looking for only one pair of Loakes, finally settled on the Royal R in Oxblood leather, then found myself very happy to add a pair of Bedale boots in Tan calf leather. I have been wearing them for about a month now and I know I will be back soon for another pair. The Bath shop is over 40 miles from me but I won't be buying shoes anywhere else after this experience.
