Liverpool Castle
A local landmark, this reconstruction of Liverpool Castle was made for Lord Leverhulme as a folly in his garden, which is now owned by North West Water.It had plenty of graffiti and lots of signs to warn you that it is not a plaything for climbing. It needs a bit of love, so hopefully this five star rating helps.Makes for a great stop off during a balmy summer evening walk.

Liverpool Castle
We saw this place on OS maps labelled 'castle' while out walking Rivington Pike and Trig. We had a wander down to it and found it was a replica of the ruins of Liverpool Castle. Great find! There's an information board about the castle (though it's hard to read and could do with the transparent covering replacing on it). We had a wander round, took a few pictures then headed over to the reservoir. Its a short walk from the free carpark just up the track from the castle. Well worth a visit

Liverpool Castle
Lovely place to visit, plenty of walks with stunning scenery and of course the castle itself which was a fun explore for the kids.Only real negative was lack of bins around the walks, especially doggy bins as these would stop packages being left ;-)On the whole a lovely place and would recommend a visit and would probably visit again myself.

Liverpool Castle
Nice place to view the nearby reservoir and walk around. Free parking is close by too.The castle itself has unfortunately been vandalised with graffiti which is a shame and it’s littered with dog muck bags. If this place was looked after better it would be nicer to walk around!

What a beautiful place to visit on a walk. We enjoyed the ruined walls though it does get very busy! It just so interesting to have a wander around!

Good place to visit in the area. This replica ruin is worth a a look around and walk to, trees have grown a bit so no longer a view over the reservoir but still great to visit.

Liverpool Castle
Liverpool Castle is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history and architecture. Located in Rivington, near Bolton, this castle is a scaled replica of the original medieval castle on Liverpool’s waterfront. Although it was never completed, its incomplete state adds to its charm and mystery. The castle is built of sandstone and has a barbican, as well as the ruins of two towers. It’s a great place to take a walk and explore the ruins. The castle is situated in a beautiful area, with the Lower Rivington Reservoir nearby. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Liverpool Castle
Nice place for a walk. There is not much of the castle there as a lot of it is in ruins and there is quite a bit of rubbish and graffiti on some of the walls.All in all it is a great place to visit and the main plus is it is free to visit and the car park is free so again worth the walk as it will not cost anything. Is quite muddy and wet in some places.
