So, I discovered The Bridges Inn at Ratlingshope today, and what a lovely place it is!I had planned a business trip and wanted to lunch at a rural pub, so found this place on the return journey, via a scenic detour. The food on offer was, some might call limited, but the only reason there was a small selection of choice, was because the Inn was currently in the middle of a kitchen re-fit, which I knew of in advance. That said, the small offering available was delicious! I had a Chicken Salsa Verde on toasted sliced Sour Dough, with a salad accompaniment. It was tasty, well presented and the staff were very friendly. I even got to chat with the lady owner, who explained all about the kitchen works taking place and that it would be ready and fully functional in the coming weeks. All in all, I was impressed and made allowances for what I already knew in advance. The only slightly negative was the parking there. It was a bit limited, so am not sure how that would be dealt with if there were a lot of visitors all at once…Can’t wait to go back there, once the kitchen works is complete and see what the full menu has to offer!

Gorgeous pub setting. Fantastic well thought about pub food. If you’re walking in the Striperstones area this pub is a must! Also Dog friendly.

Beautiful country pub in the Shropshire hills. Met a very friendly dog inside whilst I enjoyed my coffee after a days hike. Very friendly staff and people. Reasonably priced food and drink from what I could see. Nice sized free car park for those who don't mind starting their walks to Stiperstones nature reserve from the bottom of the hills. Please be respectful to the countryside and the residents when using the car park as I did see some rubbish (toilet paper and human feces) left by other users, which saddens me deeply.

Excellent foodie pub in a delightful spot next to the river. Strong range of ales and ciders. The pub has a homely feel and dog friendly. I have had the beef sandwiches and the faggots, both were very tasty

This is a lovely pub in the middle of nowhere at the bottom of stretton hills. It gets quite busy and no wonder why. The service is great and friendly and the pub itself is a oldie worldie one but with some local food that's grown very close to it. The beer is outstanding too, a very nice cold one on a hot.summers day sitting outside by the Brook.Would highly recommend this place for a nice quiet pint and a snack.

Came for an evening drink on Monday. We sat on a table by the fire and it was so cosy and warm. The pub is lovely and has board games there which for me is always a big plus! We didn't try the food but I'm sure it would have been good. Would happily return. There is a car park too which has decent space!

Cozy traditional country inn with stream flowing closeby. Stopped off after a walk over Stiperstones (recommended) and had lunch. Very welcoming staff, good reasonably priced food and (amazingly) super-fast WiFi (it's satellite) which you may need as there is no mobile phone signal! But seriously a lovely pub that's well worth a stop off.

Was really looking forward to having lunch here on Saturday, and given it's fairly remote location, had high hopes. The setting is lovely, lots of people enjoying the waterside picnic benches and sunshine. There's a really nice courtyard at the rear with sheltered and open seating and some new pine style toilets which were very clean and tidy, even with sanitary products complimentary. Nice sweet peas on all the tables. What let it down, two sandwiches and some chips took almost 30mins to arrive. (If someone had said that the kitchen was busy, we could have managed expectations). The chips are French fries, not chips. The lamb sandwich, lamb nice and moist but not very plentiful and lacked oomph. The cheese bap was ok. The menu was random, about 8 items, from cucumber soup to full crab and chips to pie. Not sure why it was a reduced menu but a missed opportunity given the number of folk passing by. For £24 it wasn't very good value for money and the staff, whilst I'm sure willing, were clearly inexperienced and a bit dopey. Sorry! Fine for a drink if passing by but there are better places to eat that aren't quite that far away!
