Mileage Correction

I'd been experiencing a few problems with the digital display on the dashboard in my car. Pixels were getting harder and harder to read and it looked like the mileage figures were incorrect. Eventually, it gave up the ghost completely and I was left with a car that couldn't tell me how far it had travelled. I decided I'd had enough and wanted to get shot, but as the display wasn't working there was no way I would be able to sell the car before buying a new one so I was on the look out for a cheap repair and correction service. I recently bought a second hand cluster which meant a mileage reading of 184000 miles. My vehicle had only covered 61000 miles, so i contacted Mileage Correction Services initially just for a quote and after finding that they were the cheapest offering a mobile service I gave them the go ahead. In less than hour the correction was completed and the work came with a guarantee.The tech turned up on time, as agreed, and was open and honest throughout the process. I spent forever looking at websites and trying to work out how much it would cost to get my speedo corrected and I don't mind admitting that following numerous calls I chose MileageCorrectionServices because they were the cheapest. I'm always being told that cheapest doesn't necessarily mean best but I don't see how that can be the case in this instance. MCS did a cracking job at exactly the price quoted.One of the things that struck me when I was shopping around was that very few services ask any questions about why the speedo needed corrected. In my case, it was just because I jump started my car and the mileage display went to 999999. This apparently is quite a common fault.MCS were meticulous not only about the work they did, which was completed much quicker than I expected, but they also asked me what had happened and reminded me that they could refuse the job if they believed I was going to use the service for my own nefarious ends. As my clock read 999999 miles, on a 4 year old Audi though, they were quite willing to do the job and I'm pleased that they did.

My partner and I regularly buy and repair crashed/water damaged cars and this often means replacing the cluster and the speedo on our little projects. While we have no problem making the replacements ourselves, we obviously aren't able to correct the mileage which is usually way out, Even though I know that speedos and cars in general have changed from the mechanical days of old, I still expected the removal of the dash and the cluster to get at the clock but this definitely wasn't the case when MileageCorrectionServices turned up.Far from ripping the heart of the car out, there was hardly any fuss and certainly no mess.
