North End Medical Centre

I have been with North End Medical for over 25 years and it was starting to go very down hill but recently they have really improved and I would like to give a big thank Nubia the new receptionist as she has been so helpful and when ever i speak to her she always goes above an beyond her role. she is just what the surgery needed.Dr Strawson is also a very kind doctors that goes out of her way for her patient.

I've only had positive experiences here. Our daughter is now 11 months and has been registered since birth. We've taken her for new born vaccinations and called/been seen for various other concerns. The reception staff are always friendly and professional and all of the GP's and nurses have been fantastic. Our questions have been dealt with quickly and with due care. We feel very lucky to have them.

I was examined by a very kind, professional nurse called Lourdes, who took time and trouble to assess me. She was gentle and encouraging & I felt very fortunate to be seen by her. I would highly recommend Lourdes.

I had an exceptional experience this week as I went with my mother for a routine check-up. Dr Strawson was amazing and considerate. She took extra care of my mother, ensured everything was up to date and made sure we were reassured when we left. We have seen other Doctors in the past that have been careless but this experience was very comforting and resourceful. Definitely would recommend this GP!P.S. So this is an update regarding my recent experience, what I have said before depends on which doctor you see.Now I always have translated for my parents and today my father was speaking to the doctor but the doctor for some reason couldn't hear him properly and kept cutting the call and blamed it on the phone. Then I spoke on his behalf and was translating then she tells me that I can't speak on his behalf and said she will have an interpreter instead.Then my father spoke and he gave consent that I interpret for him and the doctor says no and cut the call. Then she calls back a few mins later and has the interpreter on the phone at this stage my father had enough and was disappointed with the doctor's approach in handling the situation so my father said he doesn't want to be seen and he was fine even though he needs to be seen. The doctor then calls again and says the interpreter is here, now the interpreter's English is in line with my parents and doesn't speak well himself.We explained to the doctor that we don't want to be seen and the doctor then states it's a must and that it's part of GDPR and no family member can translate. Then she further states that her reasoning is because we are children, now I'm 26 so if my voice is close to a child then it says a lot about the doctor's intelligence.

These are minus 5 stars in actual fact.This medically unqualified reception staff questioning us, patients about our health issues and concerns. Based upon their lack of medical qualifications they take life saving or life threatening decisions in terms of priorities to see doctors. When and whom? Questioning patients at the reception area about my or their intimate problems. Exposing my or our privacy to the public present there. When will it be looked at? When will it be reviewed and resolved ever?

Given the pressures the GP and staff face they're doing a great job in providing care and treatments. I personally have never had any reason to complain - the front desk does the best they can, given some of the patients they have to deal with, the nursing staff are very capable as are the GP's and support staff...We're fortunate to have a large practice located in the area.

Had a great experience with Dr Roberts and the reception staff. Very nice, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. I really felt like they wanted me to get healthy!

I'm not sure why this GP practice has a low rating, but I have always liked the professionalism of staff, both admin and clinical. Thank you.

This is the worst gp surgery.Every single time i have visited for my children (under 5 years old) i have waited over an hour even when the waiting room is EMPTY. This isn't on one or two occasions, it is consistently that bad.We were once called in for a child vaccination and after waiting an hour we were told the person who gives the vaccination wasn't even in that day!The reception staff all seem to have an attitude problem and when asked anything they just dont seem to care.I once waited 50 minutes with my child and when we were finally seen i was in there for 5 minutes and the doctor was just extremely uninterested so i said to my child lets just go and as i was leaving she said well what did you want" to which i replied "to get some information and not wait for almost an hour for a 5 year old to be seen". She just shrugged her shoulders at me.We now have a newborn and they have been calling us about a health visitor. We called them and told them we no longer need their services and we will be registering at a new gp. They reported us to social services because of that.Luckily social services were actually really nice about the whole thing and its been sorted.Disgusting behaviour from this surgery and i should really name and shame the doctor who reported it to social services..."

Don’t sign up here, they take a whole day plus more to get in touch even after being provided a system that allows direct contact, the Drs are all lazy, none of them check the medical records at this practice and expect you to explain and remember everything, but even then after! You will just be referred without question umm what.
