As a NT member, I've visited several times, and usually enjoyed every visit but the courtyard cafe was overwhelmed - no cake left and we waited 25 minutes for 2 hot chocolates, then to cap it all, we went to look around the house at 3pm to find a closed notice on the door, again presumably because there were too many people still inside! Very disappointing. The gardens were OK, with the extra lights and decorations, although the music could only be heard right by the entrance, a few more speakers might be useful. The NT could make so much more money if the cafes were better stocked and more efficiently run!

A lovely National trust place the ground are beautiful, with game area like croquet, walled Gardens as well. The building is pretty good considering there was a fire before National trust got the place. The car park looked really full when you started walking around you rarely came to people apart from picnic area and the house.

This is a lovely place to spend the day in any season. There's always something going on to interest both adults and children alike. The house itself is quite unique in that half is a ruin that has become an exhibition area for plants and sculpture, and the surviving parts are jammed pack with features from various periods like an architectural jigsaw. The house has been remodelled extensively several times and suffered two major fires despite not being particularly old in historical terms. This only adds to the distinctive character of Nymans. The grounds are superbly designed and laid out in a way that visitors discover something different around every corner. Several raised features spread around the gardens provide beautiful views of the property. There's also a play area for children, shops and an excellent tearoom.

Nymans has lots of interesting history and diverse and beautiful grounds to enjoy. We spent most of the day here quite happily with morning coffee and lunch in the clean and well run cafe. We sat at the outside tables for lunch. A nice selection of food and drinks. We will come again and make time to explore the woods.

Visited on rainy Saturday but despite this we managed to see beautiful gardens, our 7 years old played a bit on the play ground. Quick coffee in the cafe was nice as well. Beautiful house, despite being devastated by the fire, whatever remained gives you an idea how great this place must has been.

One of the best places I’ve taken my kids this summer. Humans have really considered parents and children with lots of activity stations and shady spots. There’s badminton, archery, an assault course, egg and spoon races and the amazing gardens to play hide and seek, chase etc… Plus an amazing ‘play area’ with just things made out of nature which is so important. It’s so nice to not have a play area with the standard slides, swings which accumulates lots of sad looking parents sat round the edges. The car park was near to bursting on our trip but it did not feel busy in the grounds at all.Love the new toilets which have been done tastefully and the cafe.I think the only thing is to make sure you bring a picnic. The food is outrageously expensive. £4.50 for a slice of cake! It’s a shame that they feel they need to have their prices so high.We were there with an age range of 3-92 and it was enjoyed by everyone!

Fantastically maintained gardens, very scenic. Landscaping is terrific, with a plethora of colourful and diverse flowers and plants. We visited in October yet the gardens were immersed with colours. Plentiful carparking and refreshment facilities available. The Halloween event for children was lovely - facepainting clearly a big draw. The play area for children was equally fun and let them explore their imagination. The staff are incredibly polite and approachable. My parents were taken on a buggy ride around the woods, which they thoroughly enjoyed and noted that the driver was very knowledgeable and patient. One of the best National Trust places I have visited - highly recommended.

Even in the ‘off season’ this is a wonderful place to visit. The collection of trees are amazing - so huge and healthy. The gardens were in bloom even in late October and the remains of the estate home were so intriguing with the plants and sculptures. A lovely place to visit with expansive views of the countryside. The cafe was convenient- we enjoyed soup and a pastry. The gift shop was cute - bought several small gift items. A lovely day out!
