Ellis Brigham - Castleford

Can't express how impressed and grateful I am to of had Jimi help me today in fitting my first pair of ski boots. Absolutely lovely bloke, shared some real good knowledge with me and loads of tips and exercises to help me along my way. He explained the entire way through the experience and im very happy with what he provided. Also, every other member of staff who helped me have been brilliant also, very friendly and can't help enough. Amazing products in stock and will certainly be shopping here again. Absolutely stoaked now to get on the slopes!Thank you again

Really happy with my new ski boots purchased from Ellis Brigham today. Alex was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave very good advice and there was no pressure to buy. I also learned a lot about the fit of ski boots and had my chosen boot inners moulded to the shape of my feet so they were very comfortable and an accurate fit. Would recommend without hesitation.

Asked to leave review after fitting. Booked in for boot fitting but no boots in my walking boot size - UK 8 (despite this being a size listed as stocked). Given men's size 8 boots instead. Wasted journey, especially given that I'd booked in.

I visited the Castleford branch of Ellis Brigham as I was looking to buy some ski boots, I didn’t book in advance but the staff were more than happy to help. They talked me through the boot fitting process and explained why it’s important, then got on with custom fitting me a pair ski boots that ended up being absolutely perfect! Neve and Keith, two of the staff at Castleford, were brilliant and really knowledgeable - Made for a great experience!

Went here on the 16/10/2023 to try on some Burton Step on Boots & Bindings after speaking to Simon on the phone who put them to one side for me from The Snowboard Asylum.Honestly what a great store, sooo much choice and advice from Simon was outstanding, really good guy who isn't trying to sell you the most expensive stuff just trying to help you with purchasing the best equipment for you.End up leaving with a new board, boots, bindings, helmet, googles & bag!Definitely worth the trip down from Newcastle, I originally went to Sno & Rock in Newcastle who had NO snowboard equipment, not a single thing.

Fantastic service and advice. Went here for ski boot fitting, would highly recommend and am not aware of any better priced and quality service in Yorkshire for ski boots. We booked the 2 hour fitting which was surprisingly the right amount of time. They also allow drop in purchases but would recommend booking if possible as it was quite an involved 2 hours of fitting. If you would like to take advantage of ski boot sales then they run from April-August before the new stock comes in September with the latest technology and higher prices.

I had booked a boot fitting for 10.00 and arrived at 09.55 just as the shop was being opened to be greeted by a surly Colin who then proceeded to tell me I was 2 hours early. I advised him I was booked in for 10.00 (and had had several confirmation emails and texts from EB) but he was adamant that I was early. He really wouldn't back down on this and I was ready to turn around and walk out but there really isn't anywhere else around here to get ski boots fitted so I decided to stay. I did end up purchasing a pair of boots and can't fault the advice and the subsequent service but I would suggest that Colin has less of a customer facing role as he has an unusual approach for a retail environment. I did receive an apology from someone in the shop at the time who had overheard the exchange (no idea if it was the manager or not). You asked for a review so here it is, happy with the boots and the fitting but some work needed on customer interaction.

Not impressed with the boot fitting service. Travelled 2 hours to get there but felt the fitter didn’t want to spend too much time helping me. Only 2 different boots to recommend and rather unwilling to let me try any others. With a bit of persuasion I did eventually try another pair but he only brought me one boot of the pair. He disappeared for much of the time I was there and went off to talk to someone else. He wasn’t keen to do a shell fit first but did check this, eventually, with persuasion. Went home without any boots. Very disappointing

Came in today and had Ellie fit boots and get other ski gear for us. The whole process was very good and Ellie was very attentive, knowledgable and helpful. Highly recommend for others. Thanks.
