The Property Explorer Basingstoke

We recently had our house valued by Property Explorer in Basingstoke and found Oliver (Director) to be extremely knowledgeable and he provided us with excellent advice and an accurate valuation based on local knowledge and research of the area. Unlike other estate agents we have experienced in the past, there was no pressure to use their services however Oliver took time to understand our requirements and provided market research for where we want to move too. We will be selling our house through Property Explorer and would highly recommend their services…

Everyone at the property explorer helped the process of selling my house run very smoothly. They managed to get block viewings for one day to avoid me having to keep the house in show condition which is a challenge with a toddler & dog!Oli was great at getting my house listed quickly & then Kevin was a fantastic key contact for updates once my house sold. The team all helped to get my house sold quickly for the best price so I didn't loose out on the property I wanted to purchase. Thank you to all!

Outstanding! Would Highly Recommend!My experience with The Property Explorer has been absolutely first rate!! The service I have received from the team, particularly Kevin Cheeseman has been Outstanding! Nothing was too much trouble. I was kept informed at all times of any developments and any correspondence was responded to politely and efficiently. Always going the extra mile and keeping me updated. I cannot fault the team and I would highly recommend them to sell your property. It has been an absolute pleasure working with them. I cannot find a single thing negative thing to say about the entire process of them selling my home.

We are so glad we chose the Property Explorer to sell our house . From the initial visit, photos of our home and valuation to finalising our sale the team went above and beyond. We didn’t have a smooth sale to start with but this was no fault of the Property Explorer but down to Liss Trust and the increase in inflation. Property Explorer were quick to restart our sale and the amount of buyers they get to view and offer is remarkable. I would definitely recommend this local company with local knowledge and they keep working until completion. The knowledge and contacts the staff have really helped to keep us up to date and consistent communication with ourselves, our buyers and solicitors involved. We were very impressed with all the staff at the Property Explorer. Oliver did a fantastic job of the sales details, Danny was very helpful with the sale negotiations and Kevin kept in touch regularly helping to get us to exchange and completion. The whole team is professional and personable with excellent communication skills. We can’t recommend them highly enough.

If you can avoid them, do. The Property Explorer is always on the side of the landlord even when they clearly shouldn't be.Firstly, we had inspections every 6 months that would constantly blame us for the state of the flat that was entirely the landlords fault. For example they blamed us for poor ventilation in the bathroom, but that was because the extraction fan was broken and the landlord refused to fix it.Secondly, when we moved out the agency made us pay for a professional carpet clean. The carpet wasn't in a great condition when we moved in, I have photos from our move in day of stains. Also the carpet has clearly been there since the 80's so obviously there's going to be some wear and tear that goes beyond us (we'd only been there two years). Then to make things worse when we moved out, the prop. Explorer tried to claim that we hadn't had the carpets cleaned so would need to take that out of our deposit. They said the carpets were 'disgusting' (maybe something to do with the fact the landlord refuses to get new ones?). Luckily we had proof that the carpet cleaner had been so they eventually dropped that argument.We ended up only getting back around 25% of our deposit because of all the ridiculous things they and the landlord charged us for. The woman I dealt with on the phone (don't remember their name) was incredibly rude despite being friendly whilst we were tenants.Overall, as a professional and respectful couple we just decided to move on with our lives and let them keep the deposit.So just a warning that if you are renting with this agency they will not be on your side, and if you have a difficult landlord they will blame you for things that are not your responsibility and maybe even charge you for them.

As many others have said avoid this company at all costs.Wish we’d done a quick bit of research first on Property Explorers as we could have seen the kind of people we were going to be dealing with. When others have been physically assaulted and physically threatened by the owner it’s a pretty big red flag! Whilst we haven’t been physically assaulted or physically threatened (yet) our experience wasn’t much better.We hired them to “manage” our rental properties. I use the word manage very loosely as would be lucky to get a response, forget about getting any assistance.When we decided we’d had enough of their “services” we were initially met with threats if we left. When this didn’t work we were then offered discounts before more threats started.Trying to speak with anyone at the company with any authority is near impossible. They simply brush you off to their secretary that will simply fob you off with lies and nonsense. I’m sure they’ll defensively respond to this review with similar nonsense and lies.Tenant's were also relieved to see the back of them as had experienced similar frustrations.Majorly regret not getting rid of these guys sooner. There are many better and cost effective management company’s around and we were quickly able to find a much better solution with a little online research.Do yourself a favour and save yourself a lot of time, money and headaches and look elsewhere. Struggling to find anything positive at all about our experience with them.
